Intro

Pretty ehh week. A lot of no-shows. Most of the bottom half of the league no-showed which sucks. The numbers have dwindled a little bit, with 49 people this week as opposed to 55 or something last week. We got a couple of nice sign ins though. Classick who’s from B-Boys is dope, he champed the WBL 3 times which is no easy feat. And Feeble Minded from RapBattles who’s been one of the top battlers there for about 3 years. So things are looking pretty good for this coming week, though the tag tournament could sorta fuck with things a bit. But it’s all good. N.Tavarez is the new champ, he beat Shake-zula in the champ match, so props to him.

Battle Reviews

LBL Championship Match: 1. Shake-zula (5-0) vs 2. N.Tavarez (4-0)

This battle wasn’t really what I hyped up to be. Tavarez dropped first and his verse was ok. He had some good stuff like the Ghana bar and the zu bar. But apart from that I wasn’t really feeling much, concepts like the always on top bar and the modship thing were just whack. Shake dropped next and in my eyes dropped better, the beat it up bar was cool, underdog was aight, RV was cool and NT was ill. But the voters disagreed and Tavarez won this 5-4. I’m sure Tavarez is gonna be annoyed at this breakdown, but its my view.

LBL Contendership Match: 3. Monsieur (3-1) vs 4. Gopha (3-1)

Eh, Monsieur dropped on fucking Saturday night. So ya, Gopha got the no-show win.

5. Butler (3-0) vs 6. Erel Avent (3-0)

This was a pic battle and it was a dope one. Butler is nice with the pics so I thought this may be onesided, but it wasn’t. And even though it ended up 6-0 to Butler in the end, Erel dropped hard and made it a close battle. Butler’s pic is getting kinda hard to diss now as I remember it being used in like the first battle I read in May 05 or something, but Erel did well with it. He had the cum punches, fresh prince, double barrel and fence bars. So pretty dope overall, though he let things slip a bit with a couple of weak bars. Butler had the sunsets, LAPD, uniform, keybump and profile bars. All were nice. So hot battle overall, but Butler took it 6-0.

7. Makaveli Trained (2-1) vs 8. Phryme (2-0)

This was alrightish lol. Makaveli dropped first and didn’t drop great, he had the me bar which was pretty decent albeit simple. Phryme dropped and had the pac bar and MT lines which were cool. Phryme won this 4-0 and moves into the contender battle.

9. Chrit (6-1) vs 10. Nick Fletcher (7-4)

Nick dropped first and he dropped aiiight. Phat was a decent concept, but didn’t hit all that hard. Biggest dick was ok. USB was ok. To be continued was prob the best punch of his verse, but I wasn’t feeling his verse much overall, it was quite average for Nick. Chrit dropped and his verse was nothing special either. I wasn’t feeling anything until the forecasts bar, that was an ill line. Cept that though he didn’t have much. Nick won this 8-1.

11. John Hensley (3-0) vs 12. Daubs (7-5)

Daubs dropped awful to be blunt. I couldn’t find a bar that I was feeling at all, everything was either played or just weak. Hensley dropped next and dropped pretty decent, paper bag bar was dope and votes given was pretty decent. All of his bars were solid though. Hensley woulda got this easy and he was like 8-0 up, but he didn’t vote so Daubs won.

13. E.C (2-0) vs 14. Rush Lingo (6-5)

E.C didn’t think that Rush was dropping, but Rush apologised for being late and said for E.C to edit his verse before he posted his. But Rush finished his verse and posted it and E.C still hadn’t edited so voting had to go ahead. E.C dropped a basically no-show verse so it wheren’t great. Rush dropped better, the career bar and nostalgia bar were hot. Rush won this 2-0.

15. Roger Glocks (3-1) vs 16. pictureperfect2 (2-2)

Glocks dropped first and he came pretty decent. The flaws opener was dope as was the perfect game bars. The picture bar was aight as well. He had some weak stuff though, but a pretty decent verse overall. PP dropped decent, he had the over and out bar which was dope as well as the ditching glocks bar. Cept that though he didn’t have anything, wtf at the carrots bar lmao. He just needs to work on consistency and he’ll be nice. Roger won this 4-0.

17. Faime S. Quotez (1-2) vs 18. Nino Brown (1-1)

Wow Nino uses the 3 line steeze style AWFULLY. Drop that man, it’s whack. Nino had nothing I was really feeling and that style and font are bad for him. Faime dropped better and had the career bar which was cool. Faime got this 6-0.

19. Ghost W. Riter (1-0) vs 20. Ace Heratoga (1-0)

Ghost got caught biting and Ace won.

21. da sein (1-0 vs 22. Catastrophe (1-0)

Aight battle, nothing special but it was ok for a short battle. Da sein had the E Flat bar which was dope and the trophe bar was aight. Catastrophe had the DS bar which was pretty cool. Da sein would have won this 9-0 but he didn’t vote and Catastrophe didn’t either, so neither won.

23. Jonathon (1-0) vs 24. Mets (1-0)

Jonathon no-showed, Mets won.

25. Hell Yeah (1-0) vs 26. JTR (6-4)

Mad short battle, 8 lines apiece. Hell Yeah had the spinal column bar, that was mad creative. TR L’s was good as well. Ok verse overall, 4 good lines out of 8 is reasonable. JTR had the 1-1 bar which was aight and the raise hell bar was cool. The rest was fucking awful though. Iono how JTR won this really. But he did and he won it by a lot as well, 8-0.

27. So Rell (7-5) vs 28. Precize (2-1)

Pretty cool battle but one-sided overall. Rell dropped first and he dropped nice, he used quite a lot of phrases in his verse and he’s pretty good at them. Acne bar was nice, God’s hands was hot and run dry was pretty good. He had a bit of played stuff in there though, jog ya memory is mad played. Precize dropped and he came ok, the empty handed bar was the only hot bar in his verse though. Rell won this 6-1.

29. Wicked One (2-3) vs 30. Chris Stylez (5-7)

Chris Stylez no-showed, Wicked One won.

31. Raw King (1-3) vs 32. SlicKnife (1-1)

Raw dropped first and didn’t drop great, not much I was feeling from him really. Slic dropped and came a lot better, smashing-accomplishment was nice as was the walkover bar. Slic wont his 3-0.

33. Ion W. Yuu (1-1) vs 34. Jae Brix (4-5)

Double loss. Ion is a biter and Jae no-showed.

Odd battle, both dropped late so I let neither have the loss but both move down the rankings.

Not a bad battle but a clear winner. Out dropped pretty hot, he had the losing’s a bitch bar which was ill as hell. The perverse bar was hot as well, I’ve tried a concept like that before but he pulled it off a lot better. Sonny dropped and his verse was aight, he uses slashes at the end of his bars though which went out in like 02/03, as Shake said it makes us think your verse is gonna be whack before we’ve even read it. He had the out and trucker bars which were pretty decent. But Out definitely got this and he won 4-0.

Predictions

LBL Championship Match: 1. N.Tavarez (5-0) vs 2. Gopha (4-1)

This should be pretty good if both drop to their optimum level. As Tavarez can be real hot when he tries and Gopha is definitely up coming as he has some sick as fuck concepts. But I think Tavarez has the home site advantage and the experience advantage also. Tavarez to win.

LBL Contendership Match: 3. Butler (4-0) vs 4. Phryme (3-0)

Hot battle. Butler has been dropping dope for weeks now and no one in the league is really on his level at the moment, so it should be interesting to see how Phryme does. Phryme is nice but he ain’t as good as Butler yet. So butler to win.

5. Nick Fletcher (8-4) vs 6. Daubs (8-5)

Should be a cool battle if Daubs drops how he can, though he didn’t drop good last week but I think it was cos he thought that Hensley was no-showing.

7. Roger Glocks (4-1) vs 8. Faime S. Quotez (2-2)

This should be quite an easy win for Glocks as he’s been dropping cool lately, where as it’s clear that Faime is pretty new but he’s not bad. Yet he won’t beat Glocks and Glocks should win this easily.

9. Shake-Zula (5-1) vs 10. Monsieur (3-2)

Should be a decent battle. Monsieur fucked up by posting real late on a Saturday otherwise he could be in the contender match. But Shake is dope and on another level so if he shows and votes he should get this.

11. Ace Heratoga (2-0) vs 12. JTR (7-4)

Pretty cool battle here as well. Ace is coming up and voters seem to like him but I think JTR will just be too much here. As long as JTR tries he should win this battle, though don’t rule Ace out.

13. So Rell (8-5) vs 14. Wicked One (3-3)

Rell dropped pretty hot last week and he should slaughter Wicked One. I ain’t seen any verses from Wicked One really bar like one verse from a few weeks back and he ain’t all that. Rell will take this.

15. rexless (1-1) vs 16. Nasdeey (1-1)

From what I’ve seen of nasdeey he ain’t bad and has quite a bit of creativity. Rexless is improving but I don’t think he’s as good as Nasdeey. Nasdeey should get this.

Real Talk dropped a verse against Malicious last week that was aight but he ain’t as good as Fux. Fux can drop real nice from what I’ve seen of him before so I doubt that he’ll lose this.

Donald dropped ok last week but Out dropped pretty dope. He had some hot bars and he should win this easily.

Erel has just come off a hard loss against butler but it was closer than the voting suggests. Makaveli hasn’t been dropping very good lately, but he is capable of more. Though Erel will win this.

Chrit didn’t drop to his usual standard last week against Nick, I think he thought Nick’s verse was weak and that he’d win easily. Though that wasn’t the case and he lost. But he should beat E.C here.

27. pictureperfect2 (2-3) vs 28. Nino Brown (1-2)

picture needs to just work on consistency and then he’ll be a nice battler, but for the moment he ain’t got it just yet. Nino is no way near as good as him though and picture will win this easily. Nino, sort out ya style.

Hell Yeah came aight last week but sein came better. Sein can drop good or poor depending on the week but he should beat Hell Yeah.

Precize is a pretty good battler, he has mad potential and just needs to polish up his style and get the experience then he’ll be dope. Catastrophe is pretty nice as well which’ll make this a close battle. But ima say Precize will get this.

Pretty evenly matched battle on paper, but I think Troop wants to improve and he will do soon. Troop has generally been dropping better as well so he’ll win.

35. Led Poetic (1-2) vs 36. Sonny Dimebags (0-1)

The only verse I’ve read from Sonny was last weeks and that was pretty decent, and if he cleans up his style and gets rid of the slashes he’ll be nice. Led is ok but I think Sonny’ll get this.

37. Omni Alias (0-1) vs 38. ClasSick (0-0)

Classick is dope. 3 time WBL champ so there’s no way he’s losing this.

39. RobKilla (0-0) vs 40. Euthanize (0-0)

Iono much about Euthanize but he says he’s a vet from B-Boys so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Euthanize will win.

41. Hymie (0-0) vs 42. Rae Report (0-0)

Iono either of these people. Er, double no-show.

43. Feeble Minded (0-0) vs 44. $tax (0-0)

Feeble will win this. He’s dope and it don’t really matter who Stax is as Feebs will win.

45. Sangre (0-0) vs 46. Marcus Aurelias (0-0)

I dunno anything about either of these people. Ima guess Sangre though.

47. Shadow (0-0) vs 48. Illy (0-0) vs 49. Im Dope Man (0-0)

Iono anything about any of these people either. But Illy is a cool name, so I’m going with him.

Don’t Sleep On

ClasSick – 3x WBL champ and a very dope battler, definitely watch out.

Feeble Minded – One of the top battlers on RapBattles for the past 3 years, that says it all.

Mercules – He’s nice and now that he’s trying he’ll do well in this league. Definite challenger.

Erel Avent – Barely lost to butler, he’ll be up and around the top again soon.

Chrit – Pissed about his loss against Fletcher, hopefully that will be the catalyst to some dope verses.

FuxJustAWord – Had many classic battles on RapVerse in the past, let’s see if he can recreate that now.

Top 10 Power Rankings

10. JTR – He better start trying and he should do this week if he wants to win. Good battler though, just needs to step it up.

9. So Rell – He’s getting better as shown by his verse last week, a definite threat in the league but he’s stepping it up.

8. Shake-Zula – As long as he shows and votes then he should be in the champ match again very soon. Dope battler.

7. Daubs – Didn’t drop great last week but I think it was cos he thought Hensley was no-showing. Though when he does drop nice he is a good battler, has a tough battle but has a chance of winning.

6. Roger Glocks – Nice battler, still relatively new to this compared to others but he’s pretty nice. Should be in the contender match next week.

5. Nick Fletcher – As long as he drops nice I see him beating Daubs, he’s wanted the title for a while now and if he steps it up then he could have it.

4. Phryme – I don’t see him beating Butler this week but he’s definitely a future champ in the league if he stays in.

3. Butler – He’ll be champ soon. Nuff said.

2. Gopha – He’s quite new still but he’s fresh with the concepts and he’s a good battler, whether or not he’ll beat Tavarez I dunno but he’s still nice with it.

1. N.Tavarez – He’s the new champ, he’s looking a good choice for the win this week and if he can keep his momentum he might be champ for a little while longer.
