[Prologue]

Knowing I have left it steady,stuck already now entering dawn
my feet stranded;me desolate but holdin strong
with tears prolonged;eyes drowsy,it seems fears gone
clothes torn,through wires and thorns,it's been so long
tryin to figure out who's fault it was and who's wrong
but im all that's left now,feeling stranded, loose to roam
so I guess I must survive on my own now,cuz this is home...

[STORY]

getting out of bed,my arms stretched,im standin god bless
another day,another test,im still breathin who woulda guessed
I never bet,cuz another sec like that and I woulda wrecked
but I got some rest,thank god it's a new day and im feelin fresh
I mean I was next,it was either meet death or wear a tef
so I chose a tef,I also chose this life and I feel regrets
but nevertheless, I never leave this place without my vest
cuz u never know when someone might drive-by and get u wet
on this deck,u never let anyone boss u around
or put u down,cuz around here actin funny means u a clown
they'll knock u down,cuz to them u not a person u the other noun
what can I say, I live here now,it's a harsh reality
in case u wonderin how I got here,because of my personality...

My original family didn't like me,or my attitude actually
I came home real late,and my anger built rapidly
so when they were mad at me,my mom would start slappin me
and factually my dad didn't care,cuz he wasn't even slackin me
so at 16 I packed some stuff and left a note sayin "screw you"
it was a civilized place called "home",and now im livin in a zoo
filling another page in my diary,again contemplatin my decision
it's gonna be another ruff day tryna survive my dreary premanition
This time it's for 5 grand and im selling on a mission
in hope my son might flee this life,and find a better way of livin
my only advice to anyone who reads this is,to your parents listen
dont end up as me,cuz this could be my last words written...

in deed it was. I am one fo teh few survivors of that bout
he sold the coke and earned the 5 grand but didn't make it out
at this place called home I stay with the crew and live this cursed life
and to anyone who thinks this is cool u really dont know the price...

watch a calm breeze toss the long leaves on top of our tallest palm trees

if "dimes" describe types of chicks so thick that you have to holla
then california's infested with big breasted half naked "silver dollas"
materialistic wishes keep our women reaching for shooting stars
it doesnt bother me any...i just say i direct and im offerin' 'em a movie part

see latino amigos in regals high-sidin' on people...riding illegal
or custom jeeps full of enticing freak ho's smilin' and bitin' e-pills
no chevy could swing mean like their rivals the 5-0's in the sideshows
i've seen honda guys with nitro on side roads cryin' when their rides towed

in c-a...we toke doja so potent you can smell the aroma in maine
earned our p.h.d's in smokin', so we load rolled diplomas and kiss 'em with flame
most pro's cant hang...they choke themselves into comas or go insane
and thats just our low-grade, imagine blowin' on our dopest strains

slugs soar and blood pours when thug lords fuss over funds in drug wars
cuffed b4 judge pork, they'll rep a set, mug more then yell "FUCK COURT!"
ferocious animality in our streets proves dominance through fatalities
its that hopeless mentality that adds to these record setting casualties

let me restate the facts and trace it back to when we created that gangsta rap
we explained our stance...made a name and gained a bit of cake with that
we made mistakes by saying its okay to only bang or slang crack
that made a pact with the devil...so now its too late to repave those tracks

no show of respect? then accept your loss and get your record set in bronze
our golden state kept it raw by rejectin' flaws...thats how the west was won
through blood, sweat, tears...and many years of tireless dedication
our patience paid off: we became survivalists with the wildest reputation

you can love it or hate it.....but lets face it......i'll never abandon the turf
for whatever its worth...its heaven on earth...or even hell at its worst
but its not just the place described...its a way of life, a state of mind
all futures are bright, just do it right and you'll find your own way to shine
