CONTENTS I. Weekly Overview II. Battle Reel III. Top 3 Matches IV. Top 10 Punches V. Closing Thoughts I. WEEKLY REVIEW Right then, instead of last week when I just did a “Battle Reel” I thought I would use some of my spare time to do an entire magazine. First off, I would like to say that regarding “no-shows” last week was a major improvement on the unnecessary colossal amount that occurred prior. Last week only two battles ended due to “no-Shows” but still that itself is pathetic. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it takes 5 minutes max to drop a bar, if ya can’t manage that then fuck off out the league. Championship matches happened last week and I would like to congratulate the victors. Also, I would like to show my respect to the losers to because each battle was good and no one dropped any wack shit. Next up, I would like to take the time to address all individuals in the other matches and say “STOP DROPPING RETARDED LINES”. Almost everyone last week came with some gay shit and I think only myself, shake-spear, mad knight, and all the other battlers who were in title matches came with decent lines. Some of you came with half-decent lines but fucked them up by throwing in some gay shit, and the majority of played concepts last week was pathetic. But enough with that, let’s get down to each individual battle, and if you don’t like what I say about ya battle then “I DON’T CARE!” you should take my criticism and remember it so you can improve in future battles. II. BATTLE REEL NO SHOWS Hemz vs. NewKid Ok, this was a disappointment to me, I was waiting in anticipation to see NewKid’s latest wackness. Seriously though, NewKid ho-showed probably because he has yet to drop something decent and can’t take the embarrassment of another week with people shitting on him. Hemz won for actually showing, also props to L.I. for dropping in there and bringing some humour for the week. L.I. wins because his punch was dope shit!!! WERD!!! Pictureperfect2 vs. ::..:$lobK::..: Not much to say, picture checked into the battle and $lobk’s lazy ass didn’t even bother to do that. Could’ve been a fairly decent battle but thanks to a no-show it wasn’t. It was a big improvement on the amount of no-shows the week before. Quick point to make, if you ain’t going to show or ain’t going to bother dropping then just sign your ass out, I mean seriously it takes like 5 minutes MAXIMUM to drop a quick punchline. TITLE BATTLES HW TITLE: Golden Dayz vs. Kesse Both undefeated, both been dropping decent, it all added up to a great battle and the participants didn’t disappoint. One downside was that one included a link and the other included a quote, both of these concepts are played but both managed to get away with it with some dope punches. Overall Golden’s first line was what the best was; a decent play off his name and the picture was fucking hilarious. The finish was decent to, but really the start was better. Kesse started good with a play on past and previous names. Then finished with a line using the quote to back it up but I felt that it lacked a little compared to the first line. Overall I got more enjoyment from Golden’s and in the end he took the match. MW TITLE: Ambient vs. New Method Both still undefeated this had the potential to be a decent battle and both participants came well. Ambient dropped a fairly decent punchline although not as dope as some people made it out to be. I didn’t really like the set-up because it was pretty much filler and didn’t really add any extra effect to the punch. The punch itself was comical and made me laugh. New Method on the other hand, his set-up assisted his punch which was also fucking hilarious. That ambidextrous line was original and funny. Both could have taken it but in my opinion New Method was better and majority agreed so he took the battle. LW TITLE: Premanition vs. Hotssh! Another real decent battle as once again two dope heads squaring off who were both undefeated. Judging from what both have dropped prior to this match I expected Premanition to win this, but Hotssh came with a real funny ass punch. Premanition used his complex wordplay and rhyming again, but seriously needs to stop explaining his punches. The first line was decent, but the second threw it off because it was a nice punch but he used shit about illness and those lines are played more than xbox games. Hotssh needs to drop all the explaining shit to, his bar was nice, a little basic but he used it well. The play off Premanitions name was good and bringing up past shit into the punch added that little extra and not surprisingly from the drops Hotssh came away the winner with a KO!! STANDARD BATTLES E.C. vs. Sdizzle Wack battle really, personally I thought that dizzle was going to take the battle real easy but he came just about as weak as E.C. To start with dizzle glorified himself, and even if it was part of the punch it is still played and really you should be able to come up with something better. The second part was funny playing off of his crew and shit. E.C. I didn’t really think had a punch, I mean at first glance it seemed like a punch but when you read it a few times it seems like filler more than a punch. Either way, votes were equal on both sides but E.C dropped late so dizzle won. Good looking to Mimesis for enforcing the rule!!! Young Blaze vs. Acuity Another weak battle, both dropped some gay lines really and it wasn’t even worth reading. Young Blaze dropped some stretched shit and regardless of what CALI said I did not think it flowed well at all. The first line flowed well up until the end with the “cuz u aint even good” you should have left that and tried rhyming different with an alternate 2nd line. The 2nd line though was weak to, decent wordplay but fact is that line has been used before, you just twisted it slightly. Acuity came real weak, the whole feel of the punch was herbish. The first line was real filler and that whole labyrinth and maze part was gay. The play off his name was something a herb would come up with and was not hard hitting at all, so with one vote Young Blaze won. Also to Mimesis who kept the battle open, that ain’t really right because you gave a loss to E.C for dropping late. ^^..^^ aka CALI vs. Given Light Another completely fucking retarded battle, and CALI the self-proclaimed greatest on RV delivered yet another wack punch, joined by Given Light who also managed to produce some more bullshit, don’t hate I just speak the truth. CALI, the first line was played, ya had some homo shit in there and that ain’t gonna work. The 2nd line was average I guess, a fairly worthwhile play on his name but could’ve been a lot better. Given Light, I have no clue what ya punch was supposed to be, the first part was real shit, I mean “he represents CALI but comes from New York” what the fuck does that have to do with anything. And then with the whole “pork” and “pig-faced” shit, that was almost as wack as the first line. No surprise really that CALI won, but then I half expected no one to vote on it, and only one person did. Spektikul vs. MarvJay1009 First off, both should be ashamed because they are both talented and both dropped some half-assed shit. Marv started things off with a “dickriders” first line which in itself is pathetic and not to mention played. And then the 2nd part to it was also weak, that shit about him and Red Bull was not creative at all. Spektikul started off with a fairly decent set-up but then completely fucked it up with the retarded finish. I mean you saw Marv’s played shit and then went and dropped some of your own, “homo” lines are more played and links are to. In all fairness I think Spek was better and that is why he took the battle with relative ease, but both need to come better in future. Shake-spear vs. Mad Knight A fairly decent battle considering, Mad Knight dropped probably the best punchline I’ve seen him produce so far. Playing off the name again much like how I did in my battle with him, and no self-glorifying which I fucked up on. The line was comical, the set-up added to the punch and it is the only time that someone can get away with played concepts because it can be used as a play on his name(WORDPLAY!). Shakes amazed me yet again with his witty lines, that shit on MK’s sigs was dope and cracked me up. The first line was the killer with the spank the monkey shit, which in my opinion is what won the battle for him. Intrepid vs. O.V.Dose WHAT! Another gay battle with more gay lines. Seriously it was some of the worst shit I have ever seen. Dose attempted some wordplay in his punch but failed and the whole nazi shit is a played concept and so is the whole “tight line” balls shit. Intrepid came real basic and weak, but he did have something that remotely resembled an ACTUAL PUNCH. The first line was filler and the second was a failed attempt at a decent play off Dose’s location, and when ya have to resort to lines like that you are seriously lacking material. It was a close battle by voting standards, personally I think Intrepid shud’ve won by a KO for actually having a punch. But anyway, Intrepid took the battle 7-5 in the end. Morse Code vs. Zeke First off, I have no idea what Zeke thought he was putting down because seriously his entire punch was gay. It was pretty much a filler bar and there was no signs of creativeness or thought put into it. Basically it came across as a herb bar and that ain’t gonna win anything in this league. Morse code once again came with a decent punch and once again ruined it by cramming in as many links as he could. I mean seriously, 3 links in a 14 line battle verse is gay so 3 links in one bar just shoots off the homo scale. But still, morse actually had a punch so he took this battle with ease. Skriptz vs. Typical Yet again, we are graced with a weak ass battle. Both are capable of dropping decent and both failed to do so. Typical had a nice use of multies in his bar, but other than add a bit of flow they did nothing. The punch in itself was based around a played concept. Skriptz came a lot weaker, the worst he has done so far. His punch was also based around a played concept, and he didn’t really put a decent twist on it so it made it even worse. Overall, both could learn to look at the punches they dropped and try to improve because they were both wack, but in the end the voters decided on Typical as the winner, and in all fairness I can not disagree with any of them. Jimmy Pocketz vs. Solo My battle, a decent one this week, well actually that is a lie, this was a half-assed battle in my opinion. Starting with me, I think I dropped a decent punch this week playing off of Jimmy’s name well and the set-up added with the finish. In the second part I thought I played off his sig with the “fat kid laughin” well and apparently the voters agreed as they all voted for me!! Jimmy let himself down in this battle, I mean the first line alone was pure shit, “pre-writ” lines are yet another seriously played concept. Then ya had the “homo” shit in ya finish which is also played, and it was unnecessary because it had shit all to do with the punch, just basically played filler. The personal on my user title was ok, cud’ve been done better, but in the end I won and I think I deserved to. Don’t go on about me saying this because it is my battle, because it is all true!!! Intellect vs. Daubs My opinion, one of the worst battles of the week. Daubs started off with a weak punch, the first line was gay with the “into-dick” shit, that is played and if ya think that is a play on his name then ya sadly mistaken. Then to finish you had the fishing line/biting lines concept which is another played concept. Intellect didn’t do much better, had a “homo” reference in the punch which was unnecessary, not to mention played. Also, the whole drug enhancement shit is also played, both managed to put a played concept in each line which in itself tells ya how retarded this battle was. Personally I thought Intellect won the battle but in the end it finished in a draw. III. TOP 3 BATTLES These were the best three matches in order, and not surprisingly they were all the title matches, so props to all involved in making some decent battles. 3. HW TITLE: Golden Dayz vs. Kesse 2. LW TITLE: Premanition vs. Hotssh! 1. MW TITLE: New Method vs. Ambient IV. TOP 10 PUNCHES These are based on my personal opinions, you may not agree with some but I don’t care because it is my magazine so it is my decision. 10. SPEKTIKUL Marv could never be king of Rapverse, wasting time while he tries Kids caught up dreamin, in reality - he's a wet dream to these guys 9. MAD KNIGHT Got a taste for dick son, thats why ya tryin to blow-me-yo.. The played shit is FACT!! Shakes still lookin for his Romeo.. 8. PREMANITION Intellectual ‘index’, dope re‘search’ your verse with a microscope Hard to describe wot you’ll prescribe to an ‘illness’ with no antidote 7. SOLO Ya Got A Pocket Full Of Jimmy's..No Sex For You Before, Now Or After Ya Know It's Comical..Bottom Of His Sig Jimmy's Goin Crazy Wit Laughter 6. KESSE your golden dayz are over, sudden change revealed you wont win this even admitted im better, but it aint personal, just strickly my business 5. GOLDEN DAYZ Least you made it this far, I'm proud ya mixed the tide! *claps*Haha, Nah im clownin around, The grass is greener on the other side, so next time just stay on the ground! 4. AMBIENT gimmie the title now, sorry son, but ur settin' up for a fall & i can't afford to waste time & u can't afford..........anything at all 3. SHAKE-SPEAR evil chimp? its jus an excuse to go to his closet and spank his monkey. i aint much of a Family Guy but ill Son knight, like some countries. 2. NEW METHOD yea you got some nice lines……….and ill admit that but you aint ambidextrous so on the otha hand your wack 1. HOTSSH! Your past is clear.... CLOSING THOUGHTS In closing, I would say that last week was not a real good one, only two no-shows which was good but too many played concepts and two many people dropping half-ass or complete-ass lines. Good looking to Mimesis for keeping the league running on time all the time and basically keep it up. And to all the battlers, come with something original, even if it is only mildly original it is still better than the major played ass shit most dropped last week. SEE YA NEXT WEEK!!!
