Intro

This week was okay. There were some no-shows, but also some pretty dope verses out there with the special event. Not the most exciting week with the holiday season obviously taking precedence over rap battling, but not a bad week either. Sorry for this taking awhile to go up, you guys can count on me being on time in the future, this was just a crazy week for me. As a reward, I am giving you all a very detailed magazine. Here is what went down.

The LBL Cypher

The cypher was not looking very good last week until I saw that Nick Fletcher posted I think 144 lines within 3 posts! He pretty easily ran away with it this week. Here was the best from the cypher from last week.

Last Week’s Battle Reviews

LBL Championship Match: 1. John Hensley (9-1) vs 2. Format (4-0)

I didn’t think this battle was as one-sided as many of the voters claimed it was, but Hensley ended up winning. Format came fairly consistent, but just didn’t have much that was good enough to be quotable. Hensley could come better, but had enough dope bars to retain his title.

LBL Contendership Match: 3. DaTrusHurtz (19-2) vs. Wordz Ahgod (3-0)

This was a pretty good battle if I do say so myself. The competitors agreed to a concept flipping battle with words provided by Kempo. Wordz came pretty decent, one of the better verses he’s dropped. He put up a good fight, but in the end all the voters agreed that Trus had more quotables.

5. Appocolyptik (3-0) vs. 6. Ace Heratoga (6-3)

This battle was agreed to be a battle of the Bonds with Pierce Brosnan vs. Sean Connery. Appocolyptik dropped a 30 line verse which was really dope. Unfortunately, it went to waste as Ace Heratoga no-shows and Appocolyptik got the no-show win.

7. Sonny Dimebags (17-8) vs 8. Feeble Minded (2-1)

I thought this would be one of the better battles of the week, but it was disappointing. Sonny’s verse wasn’t that good, and I shook my head when I saw he used a played FM/Radio line. However, Feeble came really bland and played. He prolly thinks he was robbed, but I dunno, he didn’t have anything that was good enough to take this battle. Sonny ended up winning.

9. Phil Benjamin (5-2) vs 10. Ali G (2-0)

Ali G no-showed so Phil Benjamin won.

11. Final (2-0) vs 12. Blacksilence (3-2)

This battle was pretty close, but I felt it was more frontlines quality than really league quality. It was only 10 lines and both competitors came a bit played. Final was more consistent, though, and had more quotables so he won.

13. Prosecuter (1-0) vs 14. Lampejo (2-1)

Lampejo no-showed so Prosecuter won.

15. Nick Fletcher (6-2) vs 16. Keyed (1-0)

Keyed came okay, this wasn’t a bad battle. Unfortunately, he didn’t take the time to put together enough dope bars to really knock down Nick Fletcher. Nick dropped first and had a pretty cool verse. All the voters felt it was good enough for the win.

17. Infamouz (1-0) vs. 18. Wireless (1-0)

Another battle that felt kind of front-linesish. Pretty even battle, but Wireless had a few quotables that were pretty solid. Grey Goose idea was cool. Hopefully he can build on that in the future. Infamouz had a wireless nameplay that was okay, but that was really about it. Wireless won this.

19. Stanza (9-12) vs. 20. Vitticus (0-0)

Stanza is still struggling to improve and didn’t show any improvement here with a weak verse. Vitticus slowed down as the verse went on, but had some cool lines in between. His get well card line wasn’t worded well, but was a tight idea. Vitticus would have won, but didn’t vote so both people lost.

21. RapGod (0-0) vs. 22.Inhuman (0-0)

RapGod no-showed so Inhuman won.

23. Im Dope Man (0-0) vs. 24. Ancel (0-0)

Ancel no-showed so Im Dope Man won.

25. REMIS (0-0) vs. 26. Faime S. Quotez (0-0)

Lol, this battle was funny. Faime dropped a 10 line verse first. As with most of his verses, it was far too basic and bland to really hit. REMIS dropped 1 bar that was better than Faime’s whole verse. Oddly enough, it wasn’t even a good bar and Faime ended up winning this.

27. GREVISS (0-0) vs. 28. RyP-6 (0-0)

RyP-6 no-showed so GREVISS won.

29. Germ (0-1) vs. 30. Thoughts (0-1)

Pretty weak battle here, looked like neither person really put any effort into it. Pretty close, though, as both competitors came with fairly played verses. It only got a couple of votes, but Germ ended up taking them.

31. Black_Star (0-0) vs. 32. Shiest Lucia (0-2)

Double no-show. Honestly I’m not disappointed, both of these kids would have been booted anyway.

Christmas Concept Flipping Battle: Nick Fletcher vs. Keyed

Keyed no-showed so Nick Fletcher won. Nick dropped a real dope verse.

Serial Killer Battle: Roger Glocks vs. Ace Heratoga

Ace Heratoga no-showed so Roger Glocks won.

Sports Enemies Battle: Te Ora vs. Joe Native

Ace Heratoga no-showes so Roger Glocks won.

Fuck You All Battle: Nick Fletcher vs. Wordz Ahgod

This battle was decent, it was 40 lines long! Both posted within a day and this really hurt Wordz. His verse looked very much keyed up. He had some really good lines in it, but a lot of concepts which looked very rushed. Nick came real dope, though, as always, and was able to take this.

Alcohol Battle: DaTrusHurtz vs. Ace Heratoga

Ace Heratoga no-showed so DaTrusHurtz won.

Area Code Battle: Sonny Dimebags vs. N. Tavarez

This battle was decent. Sonny represented Massachusetts and N. Tavarez represented Rhode Island. Some solid quotables from both, but N. Tavarez ended up winning this.
