How important is the flow of your verse
IP: 3340 B04F
a quickk question... what is the most important thing about
writing a rap (battles/open mic/cypher/ect...) I was always taught, to make sure you have a good flow... FLOW is the most important thing right? cause if you cant flow then it confuses your readers, therefor, they get lost, and its hard to understand punches, wordplay, ect... right... I just had "mysterie" go in I.R. and report me for voting against him in his weak ass battle, cuz I coudnt catch his flow.... tell me if I am right... sorry to bug you busy fellas, lol. ~Ashy~ |

if im correct
flow is the way your rhyme sounds and plays out. with a bad flow people dont understand your bars they way u wrote em. flow is also a very big part in battles because your voted on by otheres and if someone cant understand your flow or think its weak your gunna get some bad feed back and most likely loose they vote. i hope i shed some light upon this shit. |

this is my 2 cents
flow is really needed, 1: bad flow makes shit hard to read and make readers get bored of ur shit ez 2: even sayin that, u can't really tell how someones text flow exactly, an example of this is Eminem and Dmx got waaay different flows, both unique in their way but do u think they write their shit out the same way? no and one of my friends who do songs writes wierd, if he posted his shit exactly how he writes it on paper, u'd think he had no flow but he does, cuz u cant really tell how long certain pauses are and shit, and how fast is the person spittin it,, nah mean? but it's kinda good to make da flow somewhat obvious fo readers sake thats my 2cents |

exactly... see, I write songs/lyrics all the time... and if you read em,
you'd think that I couldnt flow at all... I'm still gettin used to this structure shit on these websites,.. but believe it or not, doin this, does help you freestyle in real life... you remember vocab, and you learn what is neccessary to win a battle in real life... so thats why I do this shit... when I was 14, K104.5 (hip hop radio station in dallas) was at the Texas state fair, they had a battle or freestyle tournament.... I took the 17 and under division, and I got to battle the winner of the adults... he kicked my ass there, but I mean, everybody seemed to like my shit... so... if my flow seems off... it still flows to me... ~Ashy~ |

i think the same like the way you pronounce shit matters too thats why its better to do audio battles, but you do what u gotta do sometimes its hard for me to catch on the way people want their shit to sound, but just read it over like once more and maybe u can fix shit n someone will catch it
