If I doubt the words that haunt me.. they impose my demise
So I air out my dirty laundry.. take a load off my mind
The pain that’s shown in the lines, details the boulders I’ve climb
Each notebook of mine portrays the shoulders of time
Each quote is the spine, and I’ve spoke through my eyes
Silence is golden but try going through life knowing you’re blind..
..no one will find a stare colder than mine
I lose composure sometimes, but I know it’s just fine
Cuz I’m expressing myself, it only betters my health
Each letter is medicine and I’m ‘helping myself’
Each thought is a prescription, each word is a pill
Each sentence is the bottle, that’s permanently filled
Certainly still, silence numbs my real brain
Cuz when I bite my tongue, I actually feel pain
..so I make myself at home when I need to vent
But there’s no alarm and I’ve never seen a fence
Every word spoken is a first thought
Every word choked on is a world lost
You’re missing this and more.. it’s what I’m spitting for
I gotta get it out of my ‘system’ and into yours
And in the war, honest comments are first ranked
…But common courtesy’s robbing my word bank
I stutter to lie, the truth is tough to deny
My emotions plot against me if their Huddled inside
