yo my opinion on what rap is

rap to me is about the poetry and the poet not who has the best car or what thye have most rappers now be like i got like 5 million cars
rap aint about gettin paid
now me i know my rap alot and stuff now aint nuttin compared to when rap was real ya feel me
like rap when pac biggie and other were rappin like
nas and his album illmatic now that tops off any album
thas puttin out now
i mean some rap aint that bad thas out now like
kanye west hes puttin it down
but sides that we need like
tribe called quest,fat boys,boogie down prductions,buck shot,black moon,and all other classic and old school rappers to come out now and show the rest of these young cats in the game how to rap
but now like nas and jay-z there like the best out there but no ones hearin them out ya know but i guess everyone has they own style of hiphop
just to say yall it aint bout the freestyle that just shows u can rap but its about what u say in ya flows in ur poetry thas all rap is is poetry i just see rap as a word mixed with other words to form poetry but could u post up and tell me what u think rap is and what its about aight

Its all what you make it. Some rap for fame and superstartum, but a true flower raps from the heart.

It's about expressing yourself, that is what all music is supposed to be about. Either that, or communication, because "music is the language of the world".

rap is music. it is made to please somebody's ears in some way.

i h8 rappers like kayne west and usher, they suck fuckin ballz aswell as 50 cent. Talented rappers are people such as eminem, 2pac, biggie, proof, and p diddy. Ludicrus is an average rapper not da best but when we get people like chingy, kayne dick head, i get a little pissed because they suck and will always suck because they are dumb rappers wid no skill talent or artistic in music. Rap started off as a way to deal with oppresion, now, now rappers that just start out have money and women. Raps about poetry, raps about intelligence, raps about expressing yourself

Now, rap is all about money. No one gives a damn fuck about skills. Take 50 Cent for example, he's one of the wackest rappers in the world, yet he makes alot of money. Because he has Em & Dre producin' him, he got famous coz he got shot 9 times, and because of his beef with Ja.

If rap wasn't about money, why didn't Em sign Royce instead of 50?

bk in da day, rap was music da appealed 2 a certain community ( mainly black people ) it was dere own voice dey own music, it was all bout skills and mainly battling. but as da years went on and rap became main-stream, everyone forgot bout da skill and dat all it is now is 2 make money and show off wot u've got ( which i fink is stoopid ) people used to rap about their struggle and stuff like dat ( kinda like da blues ) but now aint much struggle about, so people chat bare shit with really shit songs. i.e ' Hey Ma ' dats y many people turned to 50 cent when he 1st came out cos people thought hes a gangster from da street, a real rapper. bitch aint nuttin but a gimmic. dat is all rap is these days, nuttin but gimmics
