Raps surrounded by violence man.. It aint pop culture.. I mean whats the main type of people who rap? People in gangs, people with no other real opportunities.. Criminals.. I mean thats just who rap is usually performed by.. When your rapping most of the time you wont win a lot of fans respect if you come out with the persona or image of being bitch.. And you gain respect when people know that theyd get fucked up majorly if they messed with you.

Its all culture carson.. Aint nuthin to do with 'tha hood' or anything like that, its just the culture of rap music. Rap is slowly drifting away from thug and gangsta culture because its been mainstream for so long now that a lot of people are catching onto it and its starting to mix with other forms of music.

All just part of cycles.. I wonder what rap music will be like in 10 years..

Which is why I decided to be a Christian rapper. In that industry you don't make yourself out to something you're not. It's not as popular, but it maintains its roots still, and in the rap industry you have to have some kind of miraculous story to sell, and I don't honestly have one.

Really, the hood rap and gun talk is played...unless you can word it creatively.
