20. Joan and Jane are sisters. Jean is Joan's daughter and 12 years younger than her aunt. Joan is twice as old as Jean. Four years ago, Joan was the same age as Jane is now, and Jane was twice as old as her niece. How old is Jean?

but i was readin it and i think there is 2 answers... the 2nd answer i got was 111 matches.. its complicated.. but yeah.. dunno if its right...

9. 60/30 = 2 hours, and the trip back = 60/20 = 3 hours. so... the 120 mile trip = 120/5 = 24 mph.

11. Here's my theory..probly wrong but its a shot...

6751X + 3249Y = 26751
3249X + 6751Y = 23249

6751-3249 = 3502...26751-23249 = 3502...subtract the equations and get

3502x - 3502y = 3502..to get this to work x would have to be twice the amount of y because y negates 3502 times that amount...so the solved equation if x=2y ...because x is whatever y is doubled...how's that?

9. depends how far the person travelled...i'll pretend he had to go 60 miles...so 2 hours there and 3 hours back...so he went 120 miles in 5 hours...therefore he averaged 24 mph
10. 3 seconds times 99 cuts...so it took 297 seconds..or 4 minutes and 57 seconds
11. combine the 2 equations so it is 10000X + 10000Y = 50000...divide by 10000 to get x + y = 5
or you could subtract both equations and get 3502X-3502Y=3502..divide by 3502...x - y = 1
Therefore X=3 and Y=2
