tell me if this is a good idea for work of the week...
 

lately, ive been fealing a lil bit like Work of the Week is a bit one-sided, considering that myself is the one that decides it...
i try to go through each thread, and see what the people have said bout the sig, but obviously sometimes i jus cant do that for each thread and i end up picking one of the few that stick in my mind from the past week...
so ive talked with a few people bout this idea, but i was wondering if it was necessary or wanted?

would you prefer if there was a poll, (most likely made early saturday mornings or late friday nights) that held all the works made that week, and whoever gets the most votes by the end of sunday recieves Work of the Week?

and bare in mind, if this idea doesnt work out, we can always go back to the original method...
but jus an idea that i thought i should run by all of you...

Hmm, well prob is that it might become a DR festival. Maybe what you should do is make like a junior work and official work. Like, I have been elevating, but I am no where close to work of the week (especially with that collab from you and schema). But I think that if some people who are still amatures get some kind of award that we will work harder.

For the poll, try it, but make sure people can see who votes for who. And you need to limit it down to about 5 choices cuz people drop a lot of art, but a lot is not worth it. If you are willing to do the work that this needs to work well, then it will work. If you become lazy, however, it won't work or it will become a DR award which will demean it and make it so people won't want it.

ehh even if it is a d/r festival its only sig of the week big deal.. lol

Also, a lot of people don't know graphics cuz you can use a PSD, stock, brush, and people will say it's awsome and worth the prize.

good idea, another way to do it is, you post up an entry topic on say monay or sunda night, then people who want to enter, post up a sig for that topic in the thread, then when it gets to friday, take all the entries, and put them in a voting thread.

i believe golden tried distilleds idea awhile back, and it didnt work to well...
the thing about that is that, if its jus one topic, theres a good chance that not very many people will enter...and it really wont be much of a competition, so i unno if that would work very well...

and personally, i dont think people will go around paying for votes or d/r'n that much, cause it really isnt THAT big of a deal, its work of the week, id rather have someone who really wants it to drop 1,000 pieces of work then go and pay someone for votes, but ye i dont think thats a big deal....

but i do like the idea of narrowing it down to jus a few pieces of work, that would make it a lot easier on everyones part...

but i say we try it this week, and if it doesnt work, it doesnt work, then we go back to the usual way....
