Booooo at def jam
English sensation Lady Sovereign was recently courted by Def Jam's HNIC Jay-Z to join the newly formed Roc La Familia subsidiary.
Jay-Z had heard the buzz about popular London rapper Lady Sovereign and flew her out to Def Jam's NYC offices for a conference on August 11th and 12th. "In the meetings they were joined by LA Reid and Usher," Sov's manager Zack Biddu confirmed with SOHH.com. Jigga asked her to make an off-the-cuff performance for the heavyweights in the room, where she delivered a taste of her humorous verses. Hov was so impressed, that after an hour he offered Sov the chance to start working with some big names as soon as she was ready. "Next stage is to start cutting some tracks in US with Missy Elliott's team," Biddu tells SOHH.com. While Sov is busy negotiating with Def Jam, her first US single will be released by Chocolate Industries, with a remix by Ad Rock of the legendary Beastie Boys. Lady Sovereign, who's only 18 years old and 5"1', has been making a big stir lately. She has already played shows with grime all stars, Dizee Rascal, and The Streets, as well as Shady Records' recording artists Obie Trice and D12. She also has a single coming out produced by the Basement Jaxx called "Hoodie" on November 7th. (Copy and pasted^) |
lmao @ Boooooo
but its cooll enough |
its best britain has to offer???
have u listened to heads like kyza, klashnekoff, task force, scorzayzee(n the rest of outdaville), reveal, lowkey, syanyde, mr manage, foriegn beggars, hoods underground, yungun, jehst, mystro, doc brown, MI5, dr syntax, next men, joe gutta, suicide, jack flash(n the rest of groundwurq), i could list hundreds more aswell but i think thats enough. lady soveriegn isnt really hip hop, shes more garage/grime orientated, and her style is meant to be more humorous than lyrical, but still.... theres sooooooooo many artists here that are a million times more skilled |
I cant stand their accents.
|
^^^Jut means your narrowminded and ignorant to where the american accent evolved/originated from
|
^No...it means their accent kills the song.
|
no, it just means your narrowminded.
i can listen to hip hop from ANY country and enjoy, im open minded about what i listen to. your just narrowminded, thats all it boils down to |
lol...I dont know about anyone else, but I dont like to listen to a song that I cant understand a word the person says, I dont want to disect and rewind a song to understand what he's saying, thats not being narrowminded...its just common sense, I would listen to a UK head if i could understand what he says.
|
i dont like southern rap... not cos of there voice, just cos the whole style is weak.
a voice doesnt make an artist to me. big l had a horribley annoying voice, but i still bump his shit regular cos the music is good and the guy had skills. and if you cant understand what we say. your dont speak english and therefore need to pay better attention in your english class. i find its only the ignorant n narrowminded ones who claim "they cant understand a word" |
^Are you serious?...when someone cant understand someone else because of their accent, thats not narrowminded...rofl you're mad stupid.
|
thats just stupidity.
the english accent is easy to understand, as is the american and australian accent and the canadian. shit i can understand french, german, spanish, asian, indian accents when they talk english. if you cant understand what people say, you need your hearing sorted and need to get out into the world more |
I dont like her atall but she is no where the best britain has to offer
