I joined my current church in November of 2005. It's called First Baptist Church of Glenarden. It's what you would call a "Mega Ministry" church because it has well over 10,000 members. In fact, there are so many members who regularly attend, the Pastor holds 5, count em, 5 services on Sunday--7:00 am, 8:30 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 6:30 pm. I normally attend the 7:00 am service because I can go and get back home in time to lounge around all day. Anyway, I love this church because they have sooooooooooooooooo many resources. There are at least 100 different ministries there. They range from "signing" to aviation. There's something there for any and everyone to be part of. Also, I love the fact that I get exposure to leaders and teachers from around the world. President Bush even spoke in my church 2 years ago. That was before I was a member though. People go to church for various reasons. Some go to hear the music. Some go to socialize. Personally, I go to be taught the word of God and to learn from the many different speakers who frequently grace the pulpit. In all, joining this church has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Geez, mine only had about 500 members. One I go to now has about 150 members, but we meet our budget more than the bigger church did.

The closest thing to church that I go to is chapel at work. One day a week ive gotta go to a chapel service and so do the students because its a christian school.

But I never really pay attention. Im the shoe guy... When everyone kneels to pray, some kids steal the shoes of the people in front of them and pass them back. I sit in the back row and collect all the shoes.
