When RV Rappers Take It Too Far... *smh*
When I seen that SPuL & Tizz started their own record label, I stopped for a second to think about things.
Why do RV rappers think they have a shot in the industry? Seriously. Do you people not realize that you're now trying to make it in a hip-hop industry where sales are falling off? Do you not realize that none of you have the skills/commerical appeal for any REAL label to consider signing yoU? Do you not realize that once your away from your friends & RV d/r, you're not anything special to anyone? I'm trying to see what the advantage is to doing something like this, because honestly, I'm not seeing it. Unless you have a good local support (which you're too spread out across the country to really have) then this little label project is going to cost you more money than you'll make out of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anyone on here isn't talented or anything, but in all reality we have to accept the fact that right now, no one on here is at that level. No beef, I'm just trying to see where people like you all & OYD are getting with this stuff. SPuL, we cool in all, but when I told you I thought this was a bad idea, this is the kind of stuff I think you weren't taking into condiseration. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but this is a message to everyone, not just calling you out. So yea. This is my thought. *waits to catch heat for this one* |
lmao you my friend are an idiot. goodnight
|
I agree...
I just dont give enough of a fuck to make the statement myself.... |
Look, man, comments like that really aren't appreciated. How could you possibly know what RV and its members go through, or how passionate they are about music? If there is a will, there is a way, and as long as they have the determination and strength required of them to be successful, I am confident that they'll make it in the end. You can't just judge people you don't even know, you don't know how much potential these beautiful people have. lmao, nah I'm just fucking with you, RV members have no future. ahahaha

LMFAO @ Teru.

^^^
dont u normally sit on a horse when u ride it? that seemed unessisary |
unessisary huh. you just sounded the fuck out that word didn't you BP...lmfao...Unnecessary is what you ment to say.
But as to VP said...he's right to an extent...the part I would say he is wrong at is 1) There are people like JMT, Diabolic, Immortal Tech ect. that are making money and making moves and have a nation wide fanbase wider then just the computer and they are not pop friendly at all...they just have talent and the means to get off thier assess to do some shit with they time rather then work at burgerking or sell drungs for they're paperwork you know. 2) Money is not always the major consern when your making music for everyone...usually after you start making moves locally then nationaly the money follows with out you knowing it or some shit. Your almost always gaurantee to find people who share the same thoughts and feeling as you but they cant put it into words or an art as well as you,me, we can do so they buy the album to feel understood or to hear something out of the mainstream and endless gwen steffane replays on the radio that make you want to slap yourself to death. Not the parts in which you have a point to me is... 1) You're looking at it from a mainstream point of view in which you yourself or people you know might not want to buy any of the shit you hear on this site. You cannot please everyone but the ones that you do will be pleased and loyal so long as you stay loyal to them by giving them what got them to buy your shit in the first place. 2) Money is coming in rapedly through mainstream shit and stuff that can be played at a club because let face it...who can dance nice and slow with a bitch at a hotspot night club to canibus's new track???no one and that will cost you a lot of money as far as people wanting to get your music out there and forget radio play because they minimised violence shit unless it has a mainstream flow...no killing or raping on the radio....so basically a lot of you would have to dumb your shit down a lot or a bit to get this done and a lot of us are too stubborn and hard headed to do this so we are back to squar one.... just my opinion and say so on this matter you know. |
werd, i didn't wanna have to open up word to spell it right... and werd to that ish u said there, he's lookin at it from a gay point of view because...(have u seen the kid?)... he's gay

It'll take 20 grand to start a label, 10 if you got connections. Then you need connection in the music world to make it big after that, or A LOT of luck, otherwise it won't work. Especially if none of the rappers you have signed are doing actual albums and selling copies out and adverstising and got marketers helping them. I'm talking prefesional made albums, done in a real studio, wich costs even more money, with real beats, wich costs even more money. Not just soundclick beats and recording from your basemant.
|
that knowledge is from personal experience?
|
Well, dude, you don't need any experience to know you're not going far doing albums in your basemant with soundclick beats while you "record label" isn't marketing you...
|
And ya, I'm around the music business, I know a thing or two

^ 20 grand is way high (at least in the states) for getting a label licensed. unless you mean the fees to actually run the label (if you're actually doing shit) after getting it licensed, i got a connect to a dude i know in Raleigh that could get our label done for 200 flat. legal & corporate licensing papers, everything. |
Quote:
i dont know if i believe that, when u just said u didn't have any experience in the post before |
Quote:
even 200 seems high, if i wasn't in school and was depending on rap for a career... i'd just make my own cd's and sell'em locally untill i get respect and a few dollars to push for a bigger market |
