If somebody whom you knew had AIDS and was intending to infect many others with the disease, would you kill him/her in order to save the lives of the potential victims?

ok the reason i posed this question is because a few days ago i read in the paper that scientists found that people who had damage in the part of the brain that caused empathy all said they would kill the friend.personally i think maybe its good 2 have that part damaged cos from the looks of things empathy and logical thinking don't always go hand in hand

empathy is one of the best qualities a person can hanve

so you don't believe in certain circumstances empathy would hold you back from logical actions?
