College = Pointless
 

After a semester at this community college out here, I came to the realization that it's just not for me. I have no desire at all to attend school and honestly it just seems pointless.

So I will be attending Expression College where I will get my BA in Sound Arts. Pretty expensive, but it's worth it seeing as though it's probly the only thing I am interested in as of now.


How's everyone else's schooling going?

Community college = HS you have to pay for

I want to be a high school english teacher actually...

the first year or two is just the basics no matter what school you go to. but yeah, i hate school, i just finished my first year at a jr college and it was pointless besides bein able to play ball for a nother year and havin a free place to live.

Yeah I got a tour of the Expression campus tomorrow. So I'm crazy excited. They got some nice studios there.

Any education you can get is good. Trust me any education you can get, GET! Because in 5-10 years with that Degree it looks good when your looking for good jobs.

Not a hands on education which is what a whole lot of careers need. Plus, try getting hired by saying, "Yeah, I know as much as that guy does about English" when he has a Bachelor's and you went to the library. He has proof that he did all the work, you don't.

^thats exactly what im sayin, you need to pay thousands of dollars for a piece of paper "proving" you've done shit, meanwhile companies should just give out tests for every job and people who get the highest scores become candidates for interviews, so people can go to the library to learn and still have a chance at getting a good job but ofcourse it'll never become something like that cuz a shitload of people wouldnt be going to college if they found out they didnt need the degree to "prove" they were smart enough for a job

i rather learn what i want and at my own pace anyway, fuck 20 page essays and due dates

and as for hands on work you can just go to trade schools and shit where you dont have to sit there for a year or 2 bullshitting around taking courses you dont need but have to take anyway

College is relevant for certain fields...but not most or all

compose if you want to be a stock broker you have to take tests and do a lot of shit. They just dont hire you because of a college degree.

Companies should give out tests?

That's the DUMBEST shit I've ever heard. You know how easy it would be to pass a "company" test? Mother fucker that's GOOGLE material.

what are u talkin about. if they can make every kid in the country take tons of test like act or sat, and thats hasn't become GOOGLE material. than a company test could work. i think thats a great idea

lmao you sound mad hurt like i offended you or somethin, since when does a test have to be easy? lol, im not talkin about no ged type test where its basically meant for you to pass, im talkin about give out hard tests that only people who really studied and know whats up with the company will be able to do good on, it has to be hard enough that only a few people will be able to get extremely high scores and like big picture said with SAT's, you dont see every kid getting 1500 on their sat's(minus that new written portion), so it can work
