summer 2002 was the worst stretch of my life/
felt like i'd thrown the last dice/
and it was a one.........../
and thats how the downward spiral begun/
falling step by step i came close to the bottom/
just wanted to become another body rotten/
seemed there was only darkness all light had vanished/
crazy thoughts in my head couldn't be banished/
internal demons leading me astray my whole life in disarray/
nothin could help me out living hell from day to day/
didn't matter what anyone said/
my whole life was drowned in dread/
sleepless nights completing my miserable existence/
afraid to talk to any one for assistance/
my prospects all seemed to finish in dead ends/
even became enemies with my friends/
future was bleak seemed to be heading for a blank/
felt like i was edging nearer along life's plank/
but just when the sharks were about to bite/
my mind started searching the tunnel for light/
and little by little my eyes could see rays/
for the first time in how many days?/
gradually things returned to their original state/
twisting the key to the lock on the gate/
forced it open and the demons began to abate/
but for the rest of my life the memories remain/
stronger for it feeling no pain/
