After i explain what these Ips showing in ur sig do.. stop making threads about it.

IPs in the bottom of your post don't :

- harm your "net privacy"
- show your full IP, obviously
- give any reason for you to feel vulnerable

(ive seen many members say they feel "vulnerable" . the IPs there arent full.. hackers cant do ne thing with it unless its a full IP)

IPs in the bottom of ya post DO:

- enable members and staff to see if two members share the same first part of an IP.

^this is important because

- if two members 1st part of IP match, mods can see the full IP with mod options. if the full Ips match, it is the same person. this will help stop people voting for themselves.

Quick question...if someone shares a networked server(Such as a University server)...would they share the same IP?

if they share computers connected by the same internet network, yes they would..
usually cpu's in the same room will have one network internet thing.. in another room there will be another one..
so if u use a cpu in the same room at school as someone, chances are they have the same IP .

Okay...there's another guy at this school that posts here...or at least, was thinking about posting here. So should i just tell him to never vote in my battles?
