Shady/Aftermath Sign first south artist..
 

Atlanta artist Stat Quo has been making alot of noise. If you haven't heard of him yet, you will start hearing about him.

Stat has been tearing up the mixtape circuit with his song "Wood Grain" and his own mixtapes Underground Atlanta Mixtape Vol. 1 & 2. His music caught the attention of Mel Man and Aftermath stirring interest from other labels as well.

Rumors have been circling the net the last few days stating Stat has signed with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. The rumors are true, Stat has signed into joint venture between Eminem's Shady Records and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment choosing over such labels as Def Jam and So So Def amongst others.

"I really liked the vibe over here with Eminem and Dre," Stat Quo said to www.aftermatchmusic.com about choosing Shady/Aftermath. "It's dope! I'm trying to get this Down South cracking."

Stat is currently in Los Angeles working with Dre on tracks for his debut album.

If you can't wait for his debut, Stat has recorded tracks for DJ Green Lantern's upcoming mixtape. One track he mentioned is called "Problems" featuring none other than Dr. Dre.

"I recorded the song with Dre. I got one with Jadakiss, Eminem and 50 Cent," said Stat Quo to aftermatchmusic. "The new Green Lantern mixtape is hard! His mixtapes are always crazy."

I havnt heard him yet but sounds like I will be soon. I think it's good that shady/aftermath are signin people from all over, instead of just a few places

hes been all over www.aftermathmusic.com for months, but ive never actually heard his music... i'll prolly bootleg his album for the production (which should be good with dre, eminem & denaun porter) but i have doubts about the lyrical skills of some from down south... but who knows... he might be good

TI,Outkast,Trick Daddy,Goodie Mob are all from the south and their lyrics are dope. But yeah i've heard Stat Quo and he is garbage, he sounds like he should be signed to DSGB, he is signed cuz the south is blowing up.

sounds like his game should go off with a bang if hes with shady/aftermath as long as he has the lyrical skills, has anyone heard any of his tracks yet, like the one cam mentioned, is it any good if ya have heard it????

Even if he's shit, the fact that he's with shady/aftermath will make him huge. Look at 50....he's not very good but the fact that he's with em and dre has made him blow up
