I'm prolly gonna either go to St. Johns University in Queens, NY, Kean University in Union, NJ or one of the many possibilities of schools instate here in MA. So jus wanderin' what all you other people plannin' on goin. :shoot: |

*prays 2 god that this rap shit will werk* werd |
I'm looking to go to a CUNY college.
Probably Baruch or Queens to study Public Relations/ Mass Communication |

umm... well I think it prolly depends on what school you goin' too. Cuz I asked for a packet from St. Johns, and in it, it said deadline for applications for the Fall classes (next yr), was Feb 1, 2006. And I think that's around the same for Kean, and most other schools I checked. But if that's it then, when you apply, they tell you to put in the followin: 1.SAT/ACT scores 2. High School transcript (which if you applyn' by Feb 1 will prolly only show, up to the second semester of your senior yr) 3. Letters of Reccomendation (for some schools it's optional, like St. Johns says it's optional, but still it's better to include as well) 4. Written letter by you explainin' why you deserve to be accepted. (optional in some places as well, but always better to include) hope that helped a lil |

yes, BUT colleges look at your last semester grades when the year is over and CAN call u back and say nevermind, u fucked up u cant come here anymore then you're screwed so DONT slack off senior year (im an 05 graduate goin off to college this year, so i already went thru all of that and had all of those questions) |
Quote:
u can take the SAT whenever u want i took it 5 times i think, twice my junior year and my first junior year one was actually the best basically, the more u take it the better chance u have of aceing it the more practice the better.... |
Quote:
I'm taking my SAT tests in the International School of Brussels in fall and after that I can start with my applications. You just need your results of last year and if possible of the semester you ended already I think. But SAT score is very important. If wanting to go to college in the USA you need to take your SAT test in your own country, there are test centers all over the world. In my case, I need to take a test to proof my knowledge of English language is sufficient but you don't need that I believe. After all of that, I can start worrying about my visa...a lot of paper work *sigh* |
Quote:
oh, the SAT isnt an exam like those kind of exams we have those too the SAT is just a test u can take whenever on basic english/math skills and colleges use the score to judge how smart u are basically |
Quote:
Yeh, it's not fair is it? |
Quote:
Well, we don't have those... Some majors have exams at the start of the year that decide whether or not you're in and otherwise they base it off your high school results. |
Quote:
yeah, i know i was just explaining to him what the SAT is cuz he thought it was like the regular end of year exams so dont act like yall have more than us, we have those too :p plus SAT's |
Quote:
nah, last yr it was out of 1600, this yr it was out of 2400. the Class of '06 was first class to take the NEW SAT out of 2400. Which is 3 sections of 800 Writing/English/Math also, Blay I DID say that senior yr mattered. But on your TRANSCRIPT it only will show up to your second semester OF SENIOR yr. |
Quote:
yeah yeah yeah i know i wasnt trynna argue or prove u wrong, i was just makin sure u both know that senior year does count since he asked that question, b/c alot of people think they can slack off after they are accepted, but they will still kick u out and yeah, i know... but to be easier to explain to him it IS basic english/math skills, writing is english :o |

Go to www.collegeboard.com You can search colleges, see how high your SAT scores should be to get accepted, find test centers in different countries and even register online. |
Quote:
oh yeah its grades, SAT, GPA, extracurricular activities.. everything its hard.... |
Quote:
yeah, collegeboard.com is the official website for all of dat |
Quote:
Well, European education is very different than American. We don't have those different clubs like the drama club or French club and stuff and don't really have a lot of extracurriculay activities. Grades are usually quite high if you compare them to American schools but for international students they usually base it off SAT and high school grades. |
Quote:
GPA is like your average score or something I think of your high school grades |
Quote:
it stands for Grade point average. i'm recordin', so i'll let someone else fully explain it. ~_~ |
Quote:
oh yeah, efecx they prolly have different ways to judge international students so im not sayin u'd be expected to have all of this dont get discouraged :p lol sorry didnt mean to overwhelm u there but yeah, GPA is Grade Point Average like a 4.0 is perfect, like if u have 97% or better on all of your marks that is your GPA but then it gets more complicated when u take Advanced Placement and Honors courses cuz theres this thing called weighted GPA which takes into account the difficulty of the classes and the max is 6.0 |

I'm planning on going to college there in fall 2006 so I'll be moving there somewhere in August I think to get to know my way around there and such, take care of everything. But I still have to get accepted of course, I was second of my class last year though (I study Latin - modern languages) so I don't think my SAT scores will be terrible. The colleges I'm interested in have a reasonable limit for SAT scores and the percentage of accepted students is looking good as well. The only possible issue will be the financial aspect because college over there is far more expensive than college here. |
Quote:
It depends from college to college... First of all I'd suggest you do a college search unless you already have a few colleges in mind. Then you can look at the SAT percentages of those colleges in the profile... |
Quote:
where are u looking to apply? maybe i know about some of em |
Quote:
CUNY Colleges...I know some people in NYC. I'm interested in Baruch College and Queens College. First I was looking at New York University but I cannot make that financially unless I get a scholarship. |
Quote:
In Belgium, they are now installing Masters and such so it is easier to transfer to other countries as well. |
Quote:
lol yeh, n/p i think we should all agree on one language too english :shoot: |
Quote:
Noooooooo :( Languages are my strength! |
Quote:
lol ull find somethin else u ever thought of prostitution? |
Quote:
Lmao...sure but isn't it sexier to fuck some foreign broad? Aha! So it would help knowing languages being a prostitute as well! You can always use that stuff  |
yeah u can also always use math
Americans dick + foreign chick's pussy = pretty babys  |
