Help me pick my next car mofos!!
 

I'm looking to get another car in about 2-3 months. As some of you may know, I got my 911 (which has undergone a shitload of mods since these 2-yr old pics :


..so it's obvious that I have a hard-on for European cars. It'll be my third car in my current stable, so I'm not particularly nuts about getting my self in more debt so it's not gonna be anything 05 (unless I fall back on my back-up plan). I'll be 25 in May, which means insurance rates reduce about 30-40% so this frees me up to get another toy.

the cars I'm looking at are a Black 1999 M3 like this:

I've got some other options, but these are my primary considerations for the time. Much like the 911, the next car will NOT be stock either externally, or under the hood. The S4 is slightly more luxo'd out than the M3, but the M3 is a little more sporty, so I can think of a few reasons to get and not to get either one of em. What do you think?

I'd go the S4... Youve already got a sporty car. Time for some luxury.

It ain't really about "price range". It's about "the right car". Shit liek the 300C and the Magnum are considerations also, but I'm wondering if I'd rather either of those cars vs. either of these. There's about 6 options I'm seriously looking into.

Whatever ya do, itd probably be best to go with luxury.

I haven't heard a single thing about E36's being problematic. And when did they "revamp" it? they changed over fomr a 3.0 to a 3.0 mid-model if I'm not mistaken, but that's not a re-vamp seeing as most of the parts are identical short of the bottom end. I did know a guy who's M3 was ratty as shit but that's a result of him flat out not giving a fuck. I know two guys who coordinate some M3 club in north jersey and they got nothing but good things to say about em - cept for the cost of parts. The thought of paying more money for a turbo kit on an M3 vs. headers, turbos, IC, and ECU work on the 911 is slightly disturbing. Also, the Esprit is a great car, but way outta my price range. I'd have to cash in the 9 to get it and honestly, it wouldn't be worth it to me. I got history with the 911 and even helped build the engine back when it was nothing but a race car with front end damage.




lol, I hear ya about the "fuck comfort" but if I want a car that's pretty but drivability is a little harsh with a heavy-ass clutch I'd just drive the 911 which has about 75% more M3's power than the M3 does.

The S4 is all around looking liek a better move, albeit about 5k more. More what I'm looking for, but if I didn't have the 9 the M3 would have been the clear choice.

Oh, the other cars I'm considering are an Evo, an 03 or 04 Cobra or an SRT-4 if I just want something I can do light mods to and abuse, never feel bad about it, and it'll keep coming back for more without costing neary 90 bucks to fill it's hugemongous gas tank, unlike the 911. the SRT is kinda ugly IMO, but it's liek a butterface chick that you end up falling in love with, so it' the most likely on the list of alternates.

From the looks of it though, the S4 is the one of these two I'll go with. Time to smoke some weed and try to remain standing when the insurance lady runs off the anual rates... Damn, I can't wait to turn 25 :mad:

It'd be an Evo VIII and it'd DEF be silver. The evo's still a consideration, but Mitsu a few billion dollars in debt and they're predicted to completely go under some time in 06 soooo......I'm not really nuts about buying a car who's AWD trans is known to grenade on hard launches (is there any other type??) and with no dealer to service it. I've NEVEr seen a car company that actually mattered go under, so I have absolutely no idea how the hell that'd work when I need service. I'd rather wait till Mitsu is juuussssssstttt about K.O.'d and come in and take one off their hands for a fractoin of the money - exactly liwk when furniture places go under. :D



lol, wher I live, an Evo is anything but different. There's about 4 of em within 2 miles of my house as far as I know of alone. 2 black ones a silver one and a red one which was the worlds first 11 sec Evo. But whne it comes to cars, I'm not hung up on being different. I jsut want to have a car I enjoy. However...the S4 is both different AND I like it.

It all comes down to what I'll be paying per month for the car. I'm trying ot keep it under 600/mo which is DEF reasonable which puts me at about a $30,000 car tops assuming I get a 4yr loan. Insurance is still a killer, but the day I turn 25 it comes down big time, so instead of paying like 500/mo for a sports or luxury car now, I'd be down to about 300 come May. I'm patient...

I LOVE RX-7's but I can't find any that are in anything close to unabused shape and on top of that they're 2-seaters. I hate 2-seaters (for me personally), which is the only thing barring me from buying a C-5 vette - although I often reconsider what "comfortable" really means to me. The S4 is gonna be the one and I'm gonna look on the e-auto shoppers in my area to see if any dealers have any tonight, just to prepare.

the m3 you have pictured there has a oil problem... they all do i read some article in motortrend and my friend says his had the same problem but when they changed the design they revamped the chasis and motorwerks fixed the problem.... if you can't afford the esprit look at the elise its something like 40 grand.. sorta blah for a car but fun to look at. they redesigned the lexus is300... or if your looking for direct speed look at the mit lancer or the subaru wrx...i'd rather buy new then do the mods rather than buy used...o yea the s4 is prolly your all around best bet.. friend of mines dad has a S8 which is dope as shit even though they don't make em anymore. i like lux over speed i'm a sedan man

Hmm, I'll have ot look into this 'oil prob'. An Elise is out of the question for anyone who's 6"1+, which includes me. And I wouldn't spend 40k+ to be driving a questionable looking egg with less than 200hp. That's just an insult. Out of these two here, I'm going to go with the S4.
