King Of New York????? who is it????

yea....

Jay Z > BIG......

Jay took it a long time ago...

BIG = overrated.....

thats all......your opinion on king of ny?

John Rippington 12-12-05 06:17 PM

Yeah, Jay-Z took it with Bigs rymes, def.

G Deuce 12-12-05 06:18 PM

well, seeing that Biggz died early in his years, saying that Jay Z owns him is not an accurate assumption

Tha Q. 12-12-05 06:19 PM

...this is such a pointless thread...cuz G Deuce's point stands correct

Biggie was dope.PERIOD...and the only people who say other wise are people who are 14 years old and never heard him truly, or people who are Tupac fanatics who don't have shit else to do but hate on someone 100000000000000000x better than they are

are u bananas?

Jay quotes biggie ALL DAY LONG

Tha Q. 12-12-05 06:22 PM

nah...I'm leavin out this thread cuz #1...people sayin shit about how "overrated" Biggie is don't know the facts

point blank...and it's pointless to argue with people who have a skewed or (NON EXISTENT) point of view

If Biggie is overrated, then EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD iS NON-EXISTENT.

Period.

.Ike. 12-12-05 06:25 PM

i guess everyone is non existent then....

cause that fucker is overrated......

Phenom-in-all 12-12-05 06:26 PM

Big was ill as hell no doubt... And I have heard the lines Jay used of Big's, but ya'll missed the part where Jig gave credit when he used one of Bigs lines. Even tho Big was younger when he died, I think he was at the prime when he went out, and if you put him in his prime vs. Jig in HIS prime... I'ma go with Jig... But right NOW? hell... no one... Hip Hop is dead right now - I'd go with Papoose, but I dun even know if he's from NY. LOL

ps - my fav Jigga verse:

I remove your roof nigga let the sun shine in
Thirty-eight waist, enough to put one nine in
Really a thirty-six without the gun I'm thin
but when the gat is tucked, I'm fat as fuck
Ignorant bastard, I'm takin it back to day one
No kids, but trust me I know how to raise a gun
For niggaz that think I spend my days in the sun
well here's the shock of your life - the glock not the mic
Homey I'm not into hype; trust me, I'm still street
You still fuckin up? then trust me I still creep
Yeah I know the platinum chain be lookin real sweet
but reach and I bury niggaz sixty feet deep
S dot Carter turn rappers into martyrs
Seperate fathers from they daughters, why bother
I'm a crook like you, I took like you
I disobeyed the law threw out the book like you
How dare you look at Jigga like I'm shook like boo
I keep the fifth with me nigga, come and get me..
-Come And Get Me

King of NY...........

...... thats tough............

but............. NAS.................

if yall forgot... That Ether gave Nas the crown..........

PERIOD

G Deuce 12-12-05 06:27 PM

But then you must realize that many rappers today wouldnt exist if it wasnt for Big's or Tupac's Influence. MC's like JayZ, Nas, Cassidy, Canibus, and others young and old realize how important both of them were. You really cant compare there first albums to each other because of elevation. Remember, Jay Z came out with the Black Album, The Blueprint after the death of Big, which were hits. So what if Big was alive, do you really think that he would be "as garbage" as yall think he is.

.Ike. 12-12-05 06:28 PM

and if i aint better than BIG....im the closest one - Jay

he just needs to make a song about how that line was stupid...cause its obvious hes 3409324 times better

G Deuce 12-12-05 06:28 PM

And also, its hard for us to tell if Big was in his prime or not, after his death....

hot 12-12-05 06:29 PM

too many to quote...........
jayz is the most consistent rapper since LL cool j
hate em or love em he's still better than 99.9 % of rappers
and he retired

hot 12-12-05 06:30 PM

and werd, not a fair comparison since big died
thats like saying would fat joe be platinum if big pun was still alive

G Deuce 12-12-05 06:30 PM

*cough* Nas *cough*

.Ike. 12-12-05 06:30 PM

tito has a good argument too though....

Nas is ill as shit....hmmm...but i still think Jay is an all around better MC.....nas is more lyrical no doubt....but cant put together a better song than jay can...and def. cant put together more consistent albums than jay

Sean Gunner 12-12-05 06:31 PM

Tupac is the king. End of discussion.

Ryan Hughes 12-12-05 06:32 PM

Jay-z is still the best......Now....no matter wat

Tha Q. 12-12-05 06:32 PM

and Jay Z is my fav. rapper alive

so fuck all dat

Magic5 12-12-05 06:33 PM

Gotta go with Nas..

Biggie is overrated.. and I like Nas more then Jay-Z..

Magic5 12-12-05 06:33 PM

Oh, and Tha Q, shut the fuck up. Just because some people don't think Biggie's music lives up to his reputation that doesn't mean we're wrong. It's called an opinion, dumbass. You are such a fucking clown, it's annoying as hell.

Tha Q. 12-12-05 06:34 PM

Notice how 100 Emcees used the line "Im The Best Since BIG" blah...there's a reason for that...Biggie had dope ass metas and witty word play...

If you're not a fan of his...that's cool...but don't disrespect the man because he's dead and you're aspiring to be a rapper...

dats ridiculous

But thats because Nas is inconsistent with staying with the right label, whereas, Jay owns his own label. But ETHER will always be a song to remember.

iono dawg...takeover was better to me...cuz Jay Ripped Nas in fewer lines...Nas dedicated a whole song to Jay...Jay ripped up Prodigy and Nas on 1 track...it was quite hilarious

In fact..Jay re-charged Nas' dying career...People were dying to see it...Ether wasn't even that creative of a diss..."Whiskers for a mustache" <----- come on dawg

dats da kinda shyt NAS was sayin to Jay

.Ike. 12-12-05 06:40 PM

i thought u were leaving the thread Q?

G Deuce 12-12-05 06:40 PM

I'm not talkin about the song lyrics wise, i'm talkin about the effect it had on Nas's career. You ask anybody what song they remember most about NAs, and they will say Ether hands down.

4 real tho, 2001 was like one of the best years for rap recently...loved dat year...on top of all of Jay and Nas' beef, Jada Kiss came out solo that year...that takes me back

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Pop Lotty 12-12-05 06:42 PM

I'm the king of NY and I'm from Jersey.

TeamOne 12-12-05 06:43 PM

jay z wrote some of bigs shit..... i think hes allowed to quote some biggie shit....... u guys totally go to far with this jay z biting shit....... all the shit he "bit" he makes so obvious...... like some of his shit u say he "bit" like this snoop dogg hook (if u heard that big ass mp3 someone made of all his bitings) ..... is like sayin Eminem bit NEw Kids on the Block wen he sed "New Kids on the block suck alotta dick, boy girl groups make me sick.... etc" because he used the same scheme and notes......

he does that same shit to make it obvious on purpose........ em does it alot too.... like he would say a KRS line, but not as his own, but to remind u of it.......
