this is going to be on the topic of white struggle.
what is your idea of white struggle, or the struggles of white people?
do you believe that they struggle at all?

common white struggle arguments:

1.affirmative action:taking jobs away from white people
2.political correctness in media:blacks can say many things white people can't.
3.Black people simple can't seem to get motivated, to come out of thier poverty.
4.White people who embrace black culture, are met with racism from blacks.

lesser ones.
5. Bet(black entertainment television) is blatantly racist, what would happen if they came out with White entertainment Television.
6.Rap music is leading society, our youth in downward spiral towards destruction.

i myself will address some, you may disagree with me.

affirmative action.

i don't agree that a black person should be given a job over a white person simply because the color of his skin. Because of affirmative action, more qualified white people are losing jobs. I'm not racist, i just don't believe less qualified people should be allowed jobs over, some better qualified people, that just may happen to be white.

my argument.

to begin, i'll note that this argument, is almost always angrily voiced towards a black person. i.e. dave chappelle was on a talk show a while back, and a crowd of white men, were all angrily attacking this topic, putting it towards him. White people against Affirmative action, always direct thier discontempt towards black people. Which is The very last person you should direct this argument to.

What ethnic group controls america. White People.
What ethnic group makes the laws in this country? white people
Who put this law into effect? White People.
What is this law in counterraction to? The on the job racism in...White People.

You see affirmative action was put in place, because the overall mindset in white people, in position to hire, was a racist one. Black people weren't getting jobs, because they were in a country ruled by racist white people who wouldn't hire them. In putting this law in, they probably knew that racism would never end. When you are exposed to such blatant racism, on such a high scale, it's hard to believe that it would ever end. So, by white people, against racist white people, this was put into effect, to give blacks an equal chance at having a life.

now on the subject of blacks that are not as qualified for the jobs getting ones over more qualified white people.

If this happens, it is a side effect of the system. It is sad, but the black people hired, if they arent as qualified as another white person, at least they are qualified enough to do thier job. And that's all that matters.

You can only blame the racism for this side effect, maybe if white people were giving black people a chance, or would, because i believe it affirmative action went out completely, thier would be massive loss in jobs for black people, this wouldn't happen.

so if you have any complaints in affirmative action, blame your racist brother, or your government.


5. Bet(black entertainment television) is blatantly racist, what would happen if they came out with White entertainment Television.


you see, at the time bet came out, mtv only played one black artist: Michael jackson. All thier music was geared towards white people, we didn't have our culture on tv, and our culture is and has been a big part of america.

so bet was made.
it displayed and aired music from our culture, ones geared towards the youth and to the old, and gave us a sense of accomplishment while also catering to us, specifically.

is it racist?

no i don't think so. Because if it weren't for bet, mtv will still be in the shape it was then.

mtv didn't start playing rap, out of the goodness of thier hearts. they did it in competition with bet.

people might be outraged, but if they would it would be rightly so.

white people have been in complete control of everything, blacks and other minority's have lived in a system structured against them in every venue of thier lives. Less than a half century ago, we couldnt get married legally, couldn't eat in the same places, couldn't find work. Everything was made the better of the white man.

so if w.e.t.(no laughs) would almost mark a blatant return to this era.

I believe the one that struggles the most within whites are the non racist ones. They seem to have to catch the heat for alot of the skinheads. Like my rap partner compose, he has the same agenda as pro black people like me, but black people don't trust him because he's white. And sometimes all that resistance from the rest you're trying to help could almost develop them into racists themselves.

you can't really blame someone that is used to being done wrong by someone that is one of you, by the majority of you, to see you and expect you to do the same.

there's me and my neighbors, a family of 5.
so far the mother, father, and thier two sons, have all taken turns vandalizing my property, in a sneaky, deceptive way, and thier has been no justice.
So here you come on my property, trying to apologize, but all i see from a distance is a family member of the family that has done me wrong. So i immediatly go about defending myself by attacking you first.



but black culture, on another subject is a big part of us. Our culture kept us alive in the midst of hard times, from slavery days, to today, when we were oppressed, it was the customs of our people that kept us sane, gave us hope. Gave us as black people sense of comradery, because we were all, and are all going through the same thing.

so that is why when a white person, a person from a people that have historically shown them selves to be the oppressor, tries to insert themselves into our culture, then they are sometimes met with anger.

There already is. It has been around just about as long as BET has. It's called CMT.

Because the vast majority of rap today promotes it. That's not an issue of race, that's just an issue of a lot of unoriginal artists.

The only thing I dont agree with is the BET shit. Most telivision networks have 99.9% white shows. BET was created to give us the programming we werent getting anywhere else.

Like UPN? :) I remember when UPN was so firm on the "this is not an all-black network" standpoint, then made a show about white people...aptly titled "The Mullets".

If white people are getting pissed off at BET, theyre being pretty racist. Imagine if there was AET (asian entertainment etc)... And it had asian news, asian shows all that shit. Nobody would care... Nobody would give it a second thought.



Its because white people are the majority. You have a choice of who you identify with and shit, because theres so many of us. Black people are a minority, so they have to generally work harder to be accepted into anything other than their own community. Its all about the situation. It wouldnt be the same in africa.

For example, if I went to a country like japan, I would be a foreigner. If I saw a caucasian on the street, I would probably be able to walk right up to that person and get along with them, because we are in the same situation. But if I saw that same person on the street back in america, I wouldnt even look at them twice.

Humans group together with whoever they have the most in common with. Imagine a big giant hall. If it was full of everyone from your grade, youd group with your friends. If it was full of students from different schools, you'd group with the ones from your school. If it was full of random americans, youd group with people your age. If it was full of people from different countries, youd group with any american. If it was full of aliens from different planets, you'd group with any human, no matter what race/nationality they are.

Wow.......I guess I will give my thoughts on this. Bear in mind, I did not sit and read everyone's comments....

Towards the first post about affirmative action: In the beginning stages of Affirmative Action we lived in a completely different world than we do today. White people were obviously the majority since slavery was recently ended and blacks were having a hard time entering the work force, along with latinos (let us not forget the latinos). In today's society, Affirmative Action is completely useless. It now gives white people a reason to be racist. I know this sounds weird, but just imagine if you were competing for a job and you knew that you were the best qualified. You knew that you were miles ahead of the 100 white people that applied for the job, let alone the 15 blacks. The next day you find out that you lost the job to a black man because the company needed to fill some numbers. You brush it off, but then it happens again.....and again.....now you start to grow a little prejudice. See how easily that springs. The one problem that I saw with Affirmative Action was that it never set a minimum standard for each race a company needed to include. Why is it that a white person can get turned down from the Hong Kong Buffet because he isn't asian, of the Kurry King Palace because he's not Hindi? Anyway.......I can talk all day about this, but I will move on.....

The thing that was said about Blacks can say things and Whites can't.....that's just bullshit. I say whatever the fuck I want to and the only people that don't are a bunch of pussies. Just because Black People feel the need to say cracker all the time, or honkey or white boy, doesn't mean I feel the need to say nigger......but if I did feel like it, I would......see what I'm getting at? Next is the statement that Blacks can't seem to get motivated to get out of poverty. I think this is the most assinine statement I've ever heard. I'm white and so are both of my parents. My father left us when I was about 3 and I think that was the last time he had seen over $1,000 at one time. He lived with various friends until he was kicked out of their houses because of his alcoholism and deadbeatedness. He ended up sharing a house with two friends in one of the most poor areas I've ever been to in NJ....and I've been to quite a few projects in Philly. He ended up getting beaten to death in his own house during a robbery by his neighbor's boyfriend. Now, on the other hand, I am in the Army and my current chain of command goes....Section Sergeant - SSG Marrisette (Black), Team Chief - SFC Mcmanus (Black), First Sergeant - 1SG Henderson (Black), Company Commander - CPT Highsmith (Black). Basically, what I am trying to say is that it is not the color of the person's skin that makes them lazy.....it's just a lack of ambition.

Next was White people who embrace black culture are met with racism from blacks......no, they are just wiggers :thumbup:™ I guess you can say that I embrace the black culture or whatever, and I have been met with racism from blacks, mainly because I grew up in a predominantly black area, but it was never because I was embracing the black culture....come on now.....

Next was the comment about BET. I don't think it is wrong for black people to have their own TV station. It makes money and that is what TV is all about. What I do have a problem with is them same black people saying that it would be racist if there was an all white channel, or a white entertainment, where they played predominantly white shows. I don't think it would make any money what so ever, but just the fact that people wouldn't allow it pisses me off.....

Lastly was that comment about rap leading us in a downward spiral.....what the hell are you talking about? Do you know that the majority of sales of rap CDs are from white males? By this I am talking about the people that buy rap CDs....not the actual artists. That's all I really have to say about that.

In conclusion.....I am not a racist person (most common statement from racist people) but I do see problems with the way certain people help stereotype their race. I don't walk around with my pants hiked up to my nipple eating mayo sandwiches, so why do black people walk around with their pants down to their knees just destroying the english language.....then they have the audacity to say that they have "mad vocab" when they spit a verse.....go figure
