man it's about that time. Time to ante up the goods. What's your set up like now? I know a LOT of people cashed in their shitty mics and stepped it up a bit, so what's you're set-up consiting of now?

shitty ass gay Behringer tube ultragain mic100 preamp...but im bout to order a new one of musiciansfriend...here within the next couple weeks Behringer Truth b2030a Studio Monitors...which i dont have hooked up yet..im waiting till i move out... M Audio FastTrack recording interface......havent hooked that up yet either... Fostex headphones.... of course when i get moved out...ima have my O' MXL 990 for a talk back mic....cause ill have a booth n everything... i also have some kinda damn thing where you can plug numerous headsets in...so if more than 1 person wants to listen...they can...it also controls the volume on the studio monitors...and the diff sets of headphones...i dunno what the fuck its called..my dad gave it to me... external hard drive to store all my audio files that i record...word... fucking...im prolly leavin out some shit...but u get the idea |
o yea...and of course the basic....pop filter, stand, cheap ass cables....all that small necessary shit

well right now i got the mxl 9000 tube condensor doesnt need phantom power cuz its a tube mic wit its own power supply wit metal pop filter better then the pantyhose ones lol got a stand and those M- Mobile shits lol i plan to upgrade to a G5 apple comp wit a digi002 wit protools 7.0 ionno i might try & get an older one cuz its easier to get plugins for it... wit some moniotors "industry Standards" so i can start work o yeah ya boy is offically an audio engineer word.....

a mxl990 condensor mic w/ behringer ultra gain tube pre amp which is trashy if u ask me ATH m30's i think and some pretty decent cables..but im lookin to get.. Rode NT1-A condensor M audio pro monitors Behringer UB1222 mixer and/or USB fast track shit..i havent decided on that one yet..heh.. but yea im tryna have that before the middle of April.. |

its like..one session it will work fine..no clips or anything..u can have it at the same settin and it will fuck up sometimes..then if you're doin a hype track you try to turn it down so u wont clip..and then it just still sounds like poo..=\..so then u try to back away from the mic..and then it doesnt sound right..so i dunno..i just dont like it sometimes..but most of the time it can do ok..

^^lol it's cool man, when I had mine I thought the same thing. Takes some time but eventually you realize why the mic, though a great start, is under a hundred bucks.
I gotta say thanks to the guys at geetar center for letting me pester the crap out of them and trying out the hardware before I bought it in most cases. They got rooms set up for you to play with their equipment and always have a 'floor model' to show you. And there's nothin wrong with that! |
