why is it that people seem to respect you more as an emcee regarding where you are from...if your from teh ghetto or the hood so to speak. people look at you with more respect as an emcee. but if your from the suburbs and shit you arn't on the same level as these rappers

a lot of people dont' even know it but these peole you see in teh mainstream, they arn't even from the hood.....growing up they lived next door to Danny and Becky Smith on 1456 Pleasent Lane.....

Look, I'm from the hood. Don't EVER say fuck the hood again. People from the hood wanna hear people from the hood because they need to relate to a common struggle. It's like being shot with a 12 guage and then hearing someone rap about being shot with a pellot gun. I don't believe in enviornmental discrimination, but what the suburban struggle has been lack of authenticity. You feel like you wanna be involved with Hip Hop but when you do people make you feel like you're an imitation and aren't real, this is wrong. Although, that's a pale struggle when considering the shit people in my neighborhood have to go through. Try to be understanding of why things are the way they are. THe problem with alot of suburban people is, they try to make their neighborhoods like ours. Which is completly retarded because they should be using their different enviornment to create different music. Like DZK is trying to make the suburbs look like some hard ass area where shit goes down all day, g. You can rap about it, and everyone has thier own struggle, just don't ignore our strugle to add more justification to your own.

I know what it's liek to move form the hood to the burbs, I live next to one of the most racist towns in my state, where the confederate flag used to wave proudly. I feel that, and I don't disagree with you, the whole image of "ghetto" has been stereotyped in somewhat of a way by hiphop imo, but it's still obviously a worse environment to live in then the burbs. And as you stated, every tragedy you find in the burbs, exists in the hoods. But by stating that you also acknowledged that you can find tragedies in the burbs. I'm not trying to say the burbs is worse then the ghetto and everyone there is living a hard life. But I am saying that there are some people in the burbs who's lives are as rough as others living in the ghetto.

Okay I'm from the hood, but an existance of a greater pain shouldn't destroy the importane of someone's misery. I mean of course there's someone out there goign through more pain than me, but if I'm pissed off or sad I'm not gonna give a fuck.
