Viruses are not living organisms....

there are 5 standards that are to be followed to define a living..or non living organism........viruses don't fall under all 5....

HOWEVER

they do mutate....not to survive...the go through random mutations...

While not living organisms, they DO
evolve, meaning they accumulate random mutations that either help or hinder
the next generation of viruses. Of course, to get the next generation, they
need to infect a cell and use its machinery to make more viruses.

if anyone would like to argue that....

get at me...

but before you do...

perhaps you should research a completely new strand of the aids virus...that they discovered not too long ago....

and THAN get at me....

This would mean that the virus mutates which we already know is why it can infect virtually anyone. What exactly are you trying to prove?

It's already been tried, tested and proven completely impossible and false.

you know that 1 cell of the AIDs virus can still roll 25 deep through even the smallest hole in a condoms weave?

bad odds son.

Apexx, do you read much Voltaire? Because I read Candide yesterday, and there was a passage stating that AIDS was brought back with the Colombus expedition to the West Indes.

the name Voltaire sounds mad familliar, but I can't place it. But unless this book is written in the 14 or 1500's I'd be real skeptical of that seeing that the first AIDS "outbreak" is already chronicled. right in the links I gave.

It was written in 1758, but mentions a few events in the last 1400/early 1500's.

are you certain it's AIDS? Because Columbus brought over syphillis, herpes, chicken pox and colds so you really gotta look to see specifically which disease they're takin about. Did they call it "AIDS"?

nothing, i just noticed an argument previously in the thread about whether or not
viruses are living organism...and if they arn't living..that means they can't mutate...

so i was just clearing that up...before people start getting off subject

Crazy Hades 04-02-06 09:16 PM

They mention Voltaire on American Pie. Finch says 'Voltaire can suck on my balls.'
