Jesus christ...This thread is fuckin old.....Delete it and start a new 1 in a phew munths time....

I've only heard a handfull of emcees from the UK, none of those I heard had a nice delivery at all. Lyrics were straight, I just don't think I can get over the accents.

Bigg E Z 01-08-04 04:04 PM

Stereotyping is so BBAAADDD....!

D-Verb 01-08-04 04:07 PM

I'm not stereotyping, at what point did I say every UK emcee sounds funny? The ones I heard I couldn't get into, I don't doubt UK got some ill heads...but I have yet to hear them. Someone drop some names in here, I wanna peep some new shit.

Lokinator 01-08-04 04:08 PM

it's not stereotyping. . i can understand. .

I mean, the only reason why I'm used to the
american accent is cause american corporation
is everywhere in the Uk. . and plus I grew up
listening to american hip hop. . but the reason
why I used to like Ukhh was because it was
familiar to me. . but it then lost it's magic. .

:hump:

LOL

Well...The good thing bout UK Hip Hop is, that by seing whats bad about US Hip Hop, we can better our scene... Like, theres less MC's rhymin bout how big his gun is, and is rhymin bout the state of Goverment,Muzic and Intelligence here....

To me, the only Hip Hop i trully relate to is Def Jux, Or maybe ill like a Hot song by Nas Or Wu or something....But other than that.....UKHH is my thing.....

Accent aint shit...If u can Listen to Aesop Rock, then u can listen to UKHH...Any1 Agree...??

A lot of emcees in the US are political, just not commerical cats. No major record label in the states really wants to promote "Anti-Americanism" in a time of crisis, which is a shame because we don't really have too many well known emcees dropping knowlege. I know a lot of people who can drop some real deep and political reasonings in their lines, don't think all of the music here is mindless.

I don't listen to Aesop Rock, haha. I'm not bashing your scene though, I'm always down to hear new emcees. Drop some names to check out.

Bigg E Z 01-09-04 02:37 PM

Aesops US......

And personaly, a nation that does not want its people Rhyming Knowledge is a nation that thrives on control...i.e- A Country of People + Un-Intelligence = Easy Slavery....
