shut your mouth, i been listening to rap my whole life, and i still say its not dying, as long as we are doing it, it will live on. right now their is some wack shit on the radio, but its selling more then ever,

and right now, its turning in the right direction.
look at some of the people finally making it to MTV and BET.
Talib, Pitch Black, Atmosphere, Aesop Rock(<-booo) K-os, Kanye West, Blackalicious, Mos Def, Jean Grae (she had a interview about her on MTV) Little Brother (they where on MTV you hear it first) i seen Brother Ali beat boxing while Slug freestyled during the end credits of a show but i dont know what that show was. its slowly going back to where it should be.

their is still alot of DJs,

break dancing isnt as big

graff is world wide. you see it everywhere its far from dead and the graff artists now days are more complex then they were back in the day. only problem is its harder to do today then it was back then.

hip hop lives as long as we keep it alive, but you guys bitching about it, and doing nothing to change it are just as bad as the guys fucking it up. instead of bitching why dont you work your ass off and change the game.

Just because you grew on the old stuff HaycH, and it's changing, doesn't mean it's dying. I grew up on gangsta rap, but I didn't start whining when nu-skool took over. Why? Cos I actually got bored of listening to the same thing. It's musical progress - just cos it comes in a different form to what you grew up on, doesn't mean it's dying. It's happened in every form of music - look at rock, it's changed billions of times. Yet it's still not dead, it's popular.

And C-Section has some very valid points. Graffiti is worldwide, breakdancing still goes on (although not as much), and hip-hop is getting more into the mainstream - of course we've had some crap artists, but when people like Kweli and Slug are getting air time, that's a good sign. And there are still DJ's.

There's a big difference in "change" and "death".

And btw, Latino's had a big role in hip-hop culture. They are the most influential race besides african americans. And what does your race have anything to do with your understanding of music? Dumb racists.

hiphop aint dying its jus exploding world wide, only a few months ago the whole of the american billboard top ten was full of rap artists. hiphop is jus getting bigger, but if we carry on with gunz and stuff it jus gets boring and replayed, its wen rappers write about current event, thier life and shit that we can truly acknowledge wat hip hop is, but to say it is dying is wrong.

neway it come from Ja Rule-how much does that say.

Hip-hop as a artform ain;t dying....

but Hip-hop being all one culture is......

IT's alot o different flavors out there .. gangsta, backpack, battling, street, it a whole lot of division in hip-hop now...

Its not like back in the day where the same person whould like NWA and then Tribe called Quest, Now it's like, "The kind of hip-hop I listen to is good and everything eles is garbage". People take sides instead of understanding everything....THen you have the whole racial devide thing that has come into play with the 'white boy backpack' crowd and how most blacks ain;t feeling that side. So hip-hop as a culture ain;t dying artisticly but is changing with all the policts involved nowadays

Also, The the way the media, and record companies treat this artform thats killing it. Like MTV picks certain types over the rest and brainwashes the public into thinking that it's dope, kinda the same with BET. That channel has no direction and is such a mess right now.... The same with radio, the big record companies have the finacial muscle to dominate the airwaves and have you hearing a song 40 times a day....
