i'm an it technician and it sounds like not enough physical memory (RAM) do you have a video card?? that would also help.. investing in both of these will ensure photshop runs perfectly,,, i have 256 mb of SDram (not very much) and a nvidia geforce fx 5600 xt 128meg graphics card and i can do any process on adobe quick as blinking |

I'm pretty sure my computer has 256 Mb. (I'm not at home, but I'll check when I get there. And, what's "SDram"? or is that the proper acronym for RAM?). Erm, I'm really not sure about the video card...I need to get one anyways, so I can play Halo and Call Of Duty that I got. How much will the card you said go for do you think? Thanks. :) |
i just paid 100 pound, if your in the states that will be about 145 dollars, the SD, is the type of ram i have,,,, it all depends on what type of ram your motherboard supports,,, ask sumone who knows what they are on about to take a look,,, you could have SDram, PCIram or the best of the best DDRram which stands for Double Data Rate. (very cool) with my setup (1.3mhz processor) which is really very basic., i can run call of duty on full very smoothly....

I got people to do it for me now. :p

"you ahve to pay for them dumb fuck, its hard to get full photo editing programs for free now.
I got mine when i got my computer..." http://www.suprnova.org/, go there and download the client at the bottom of the page. Then you should be able to get anything there, although it could take several days. |
how do you mkae see through pictures?
like a pictuer of me, but you could see threw me to something behind me. |
Bruk you need atleast 512MB of memory, and 40 gigabyte HD with virtual memory set to 1M (portion of Harddrive will be used as look ahead type memory) A decent Video card would only aid the situation as well. Under these conditions Photoshop should run quite effeciently.

Well I had 64MB of RAM before and only 15 GB HD, with a 8MB Graphics Card, and photoshop ran smoothly for me. Maybe something else is wrong with ur comp. |
the newest out is 7.0...you can make cd covers...although I can make cd covers I think you should buy Macromedia Fireworks Mx 2004...it's a really good program and easy to work with
|
Seems really good.
|
I got Photoshop 6.0, but the lastest jump-off is Photoshop CS, which is 8.0 but that what they call it though......
Yhea you can do anything on there, CD covers, business cards, flyers, 3d images, illustrations, airbushing, shit anything you can think to print out, you can even design a web page on there, with the links, roll overs and all that..it depends on your skill and what plug-ins you cop.... I did my sig in Photoshop..... |

Oh....That sounds like a lot of work. Quote:
There is. It's my computer. |
OK Peeps Listen up:
Adobe Photoshop is the best image program in the worlds hands down. It is used by most professionals and is used for far more than CD Covers. Don't settle for others (Fireworks, Corel, etc) If your gonna learn a program, learn Photoshop. Also, it is known to be a RAM pig, you need lot's of memory to run it. Video card has nothing to do with it trust me. Oh and whoever wanted to know how to make somthing wee-thru (transparent, alpha) just lower the opacity of the layer you want transparent, and save as a transparet .GIF or .PNG |
I'm a Photoshop Guru, PM me if you have any questions. Especially in Flash MX, or photoshop.
