I don't have AIM, nor do I want it. Just PM me if you wish.

argue on aim.
grammies are awarded for record sales. theres other award shows out there.... where talent wins. |
Record sales USUALLY reflect awards. It's never been off of skill or contribution. Do you know how many awards Biggie, Pac, n Mos Def would have received if it was really based on contributions. Thats never been what awards shows are about. Its about who's the most popular and who sells the most records.

record sales dont determine the awards all the time.

Without Hip Hop being as exposed as it is in the grammys, the sad fact it...there would be no hip hop
Before you all jump on your soap boxes and start arguing how you WILL drive to mexico to get rap albums try and follow me here. No exposure means that no one will take the liability to promote and release a rap album. If no albums are being made then rap is back to partys and back yard battles. If that happend, we do go back to skill over looks but then would I, who resides in NYC, know about this white rapper from detroit whos supposedly the NICEST... doubtful. And about my previous statement in regard to underground music... someone has to believe that their albums will sell, hence they too require exposure...If your so lyrically inclined that you make Rakim looks like nursury rhyme, but are as black listed as Sheane O Conner (spelling?) at the vatican....trust me no one will invest money for your record deal. This is based on opinion but im going out on a limb, most major record lables/distibutors are not run by anyone who gives a flying fuck about rap/hip hop... they just want to get paid. As my friend Eric once said, he is an owner of a company that manages musicians "I dont care what they sing about or to who, as long as i am getting paid" So for my closing argument, be happy that the grammys are promoting hip hop, even if its the talent less side...we have a foot in the door, from there we can bum rush our way in and force feed them true lyrics |
i dont think 50 desurves it either, his album i liked at first, then i just realised he's just another third rate rapper, with a shot in his flesh which sells songz.
|
^^^ thats rediculous. Given 50s not the BEST rapper... he's still got a nice flow, charisma, and a nice delivery. He's not super creative but he knows how to spin things and he knows how to make songs. He CAN make good songs. 50 IS a good rapper... is he the best... we all know he's not but at the same time you have to give him his respect.
|
...n u have Ja Rule in ur sig...
If you consider him a rapper... please dont speak. |
true...to syn, TR.. and mystery.
thats what i was trying to say, without typing it... |
