personally, when i freestyle, b4 i start i think of a first two lines then from there, i just think of my second line before hand... like i'll spit a line then while im doin that, think of my next line's second rhyme- do yall understand that cuz i dont think i explained good enuff... its like you got lines
A and B- where A is the first line, and B is the next line rhyming with A... well, I think of my B lines first(well, the end of it- sort of the punch) and then make an A to rhyme with that. that way, its easier to get multies...
but enough on a freestyle lesson, lets hear about somebody else

Well, heres what I do exactly

I start off with a rhyme, say... Like then I let the sentence fill itself in such as

Do you wanna know what I think you look like?

Then as I'm saying that i think of the next word to rhyme with like, such as fight

A little mommas boy who never been in a fight.

I don't think too much on the sentence, as I do the rhyme, I try to just keep the rhymes in my mind, but when I go to switch rhymes, thats when I start messing up, while trying to stay on the same topic.

Am I doing this right?

jus think up the next line. i think the hardest part of freestylin is gettin the first line then its all good from there. it comes wit experience though u jus gotta keep practicin like nething else. and to sum peeps it comes natural.

But remember,freestylin means "your style" so just spit your style

i used to have the same problem...but then i just let go...if theres preasure on you to do it...then ur gonna fuck up...just let go...and let the words fall into place...it'll make sense if u just let it happen...

in freestyles like da othaz said i agree don't think bout wut u say let it flow & u should get pass ur writer's blocc when u get 2 da 2nd or 4th bar

If you have an extensive vocab, you should be able to think of the next word that rhymes with the previous one, and make sense.. you already have millions of words in your data base, its just the art of putting it together.. me personally, I will say a word, then whatever word rhymes with it, i say it, and make it make sense later..
i mean, freestylin should be easy to a rythmic person with a vocabulary, it's just incorporating punchlines and metas that makes it hard.. you need to already have a few sayings in your head already to really shine, or do like they do in the East Coast, change the definition of freestyle and spit a prewritten verse in one take, like Jay-z, they also do that in battles, any real hip hopper knows this.. so if you hear someone on MTV, or Freestyle Friday who spits an impeccable freestyle, with awsome punchlines and no mess ups, chances are is that its written.. unless you're like Eyedea, and talk about exactly whats in front of you at that moment, and rhyme with it..

If you can't think of anything that means you need to go back to practicing. After practicing, if you still can't think of anything you need to go back to writing. When writing if you still can't think of anything, you need to just stop rapping.

I never really wrote anything until a few days ago, and now it seems like I can rhyme those words a lot more easier heh... I'm gonna keep on writing!, My friend that I met not too long ago and found out he raps... has writtin about 20 note books worth, so I got some work to do =P

I also told him I'd battle him, but won't be for a while heh, I'm gonna get merked
