The file is titled "Lucky Basketball", although we know that shot was 100% pure, unadultered skill

Immac 02-09-05 09:22 PM

Rukkus 02-09-05 09:28 PM

Rukkus 02-09-05 11:46 PM

Yeah... but am i the only person who notices that the buzzer actually beat him by about a half a second???

It went off before the ball left his hand.......

kelsick39 02-09-05 11:48 PM

no i looked at it like 20 times, i was thinkin the same thing, but i think he beat it

MadProphet 02-10-05 12:37 AM

who cares....the shot was too good to discount cuz of half a second or less

lol @ him making it to win a game....give him 1,000 tries i say your lucky if he makes one or 2

A half a second matters a lot in basketball.

MadProphet 02-10-05 12:43 AM

i play basketball....trust me, its hardly ever noticable on the high school level....maybe if we had instant replay but since we dont....nope, not that much of a difference

Nynth Degree 02-10-05 12:45 AM

A whole half second is noticeable, as it only takes 3/10 of a second to snap the wrist, which releases the ball.

MadProphet 02-10-05 12:47 AM

3/10 second you can tip the ball in
7/10 second you can shoot the ball (actual rules)

during the course of a close game, im am absolutely posotive that a half second is NOT that noticable, im not speaking of opinion but rather personal experiance

After the game, they were interviewin him on our local news station or w/e and they were just messin around to see if he could do it again and he tried and made it again right there... from same spot... but yeah he would probably miss the next 998... lol but some pretty fuckin crazy dope shit.....

But yeah, word at .5 seconds bein alot in basketball... and the rule is (kinda like what MadProphet was saying) if theres less than .3 seconds on the clock then u can basically do nothing... but yeah... werrd at in high school basketball, if its close or w/e than .5 seconds doesnt really matter... but this was actually a local small college game that this happened at... but same deal.......

Nynth Degree 02-10-05 12:54 AM

Well you said they donn't have instant replay...but there's a personal camcorder right next to the player. So even though the game is long over, we can still figure out the truth

MadProphet 02-10-05 12:58 AM

yea, but it wont make any difference in the refs ruling since they wont look at it.

and LMFAO @ him makin it again...id be so pissed at the fact the shot went in

Nynth Degree 02-10-05 01:01 AM

A few years ago there was a kid at my high school who was known for making half-court buzzer-beater game-winners...he was overrated though, 'cuz my brother taught him everything, then had to settle down 'cuz he got hurt. Last I heard of that kid, he got kicked out of community college for getting in a drunken brawl with the golf team.
