Yeah man for sure. You cant know what hip hop is without knowing the name of everyone in Wu Tang. Without knowing who every emcee's DJ is... YOU ARE NOTHING. Hip Hop isnt a culture, its about who's freakish enough to learn the name of a bunch of underground emcees albums!! im so sorry, what was I thinking... HA! hip hop? a culture? naahhhhhhh

pInkMonkeY 04-07-05 06:11 AM

hip hop is not a culture, its a business.
and when you understand that, you understand
why business and history dont belong in the
same forum. i only see one medium that has
lasted, no names, no underground albums
no dj's none, i only see music as the medium...
a culture shouldn't be named after the music
it was born from. it shits on the history of music.

Hip Hop is a culture made of elements. Business is business. just cos todays industry exploits rap (which happens to be the music of the culture) unto 15 yr old girls who think black people are cool, doesnt mean its hip hop.

Its a twisted form of rap, but NOT hip hop.

pInkMonkeY 04-07-05 06:21 AM

how can you honestly say that today
in our day and age that hip hop is not
influenced 90% by money or the likes of it?

pInkMonkeY 04-07-05 06:35 AM

Rub my Paynus 04-07-05 06:49 AM
