werd, I'm with Phenom...Mariah Carey is known as being the female artist to sell the most albums in the decade of the 90s...she's the solo female artist that sold the most copies of her debut album, she beat Whitney...the fact that she "fell off" because she had some personal problems and couldn't deal with the pressures of fame and living up to everybody ELSE's expectations of her has nothing to do with her talent...
she's more talented than most females in the industry, she writes and or co-writes ALL of her songs and does much of the vocal arrangements as well...if ya'll are just realiZing that she's like THE sikkest female in R&B then ya'll got no business being involved in HipHop cuz she's a part of HipHop culture just like Mary J. Blige and others are...and in my opinion, MAry J. the only other female that's up there on a level that's at least remotely close to Mariah... however TECHNICALLY Mariah IS the best singer in the industry because her vocal range is about 7 or 8 octaves...which means she can sing every note n a piano :thumbup: |

QL isn't a singer though, and she hasn't sold anywhere near as many records as Mariah...but I won't doubt that QL is a nyce rapper and, to me, a good singer in her own right though...however if we're gonna consider good but not better selling female rappers, MC Lyte is on the top...good and good selling rapper, definetly gotta be EVE...but yeah, we're off topic as HELL right now, hahaa...

werd, TLC last 2 albums weren't all that...that 1st album where they had T-Boz as the lead instead of soft voice Chili MADE them to me...she had that deeper more soulful feel to her, Chili had that cutesie voice...one of my faves by them is "Creep"...
Salt-N-Peppa and Spinderlla was dat shyt too, ya'll can't deny that them females was G wid it... and most DEFINETLY SWV was dat bizness too...so was TOTAL and the best girl group far as old school (to me) has gotta be En Vogue when they had all 4 members... |
