producers kyd!!...seriously though, producers are msot important cuz you gotta have beats for people to spit or sing on :p you need a good little bunch of them 1st and make sure they do different styles, you don't want producers that only sample, it's mundane and will cost you to clear samples and shit anyway... nah I'm not tryina sign anyone, not tryina start a label, I'm on a start-up label here in Houston and the CEO and I talk a lot and he gave me a list of books he's been reading and red me some parts when we talk on the phone N what-not so I know a little more than most online about the music industry :thumbup: P.S. no you can't have the list of books and don't ask ThaQ for it cuz he won't give it to you either LOSER!! lol |

I'll say this one time: RECOUPABLE!!! NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is free. If you don't know what re-couping means, thne go buy a music law book (I suggest "The Business of Music") instead of asking kids on the internet with no record deals/labels/affiliations what the best advice is.

I think he was just asking people what they would want from a label if they were looking to get signed.....like if there was something specific they would want. I think he's got i pretty much covered though......except the fact that I wouldn't want to hire another person to get me deals and shit when I'm already paying a lot to the Indie Label. I think that I would want to go to one place to manage everything.
