I use this bu I didn't think it was telling me enough so I made this thread thank you very much

villagepimp 11-29-05 03:38 PM

Nah this can't be sinner... sinner IMs me on MSN for advice about women, then I tell him that they don't like him and if he goes for them that they'll become lesbian, which hinders Daubs & Distilled's pimping out in UK.

You can tell, cuz British ppl wouldn't claim to be from Rhode Island.

First off... when freestyling... it'll just come to you. More you do it the better. As far as just flowing to a beat, everyone comes with their own style, you can't read a text book or be shown how to do it... everyone develops their own sense of rythm.

I live in the 'burbs but most of rhode Island ain't what you make it out to be anyway thanks.

and WTF u talking about I ain't no sinner, I'm a devoted muslim

:huh:

I'm new to this so what would be so wrong in me asking. SMH @ your ignorance...want to start with what race I am off f shit you barely know

Damn why all y'all picking on him... He need help just answer the question, y'all have to get all anal.

Flow is about the structure of the beat, you CAN follow the snares you don't have to, but in general, snares are a "guide".

Your question: Is it okay to follow other instruments in a beat besides the snare?

Answer = yes.

If you are just starting out I would recommend you try to get used to hitting the snares, then shift to another instrument IN THE SAME BEAT and write to it. After a while, it'll come out naturally (the way you want it). But the first time it's gonna suck, guaranteed because you experimenting. Once you get used to it, then you'll understand the reasoning of switching up ya flow and hitting other instruments. That way you won't sound boring, but you get used to playing around with the beat.

And freestyling - Is all about practice. Freestyle everday when you relaxing and a commercial come on, peep your surroundings and just start spitting. For me, I practice freestyling when I clean the kitchen and wash up some dishes late at night. And I go to sleep with headphones on listening to beats that I would spit to that I haven't wrote to yet. Then I wake up in the morning with concepts... But it's all about preferences and you willing to practice fa real.

yea........ wen startin out, just hit the snare....... as u go on ull naturally learn more complex ways to flow, and the best way to flow to a beat...... one thing i do sumtimes is freestyle to a beat (record it) and not worry about sayin anythin good, but tryin out different types of ways to flow to it..... and than wen u replay it, ull def find out the best ways for that beat..... cuz i dunno about other people, but its really hard for me to tell if my specific flow will sound good on that beat while im spittin it....... too bad im real lazy on most tracks
