The 40 pin connector you got is the default shit for most hardrives, the new hardrive you have might need a cord that has a strip on it, like a strip on the side of a matress idk what its called I forgot, but thats weird that the hardrive doesnt support the connector you already have, the smaller port to the right is the power supply, and the little one on the left you dont necessarily have to connect it depends, its some audio shit with the motherboard, atleast thats how mine was.

Youre taking too long and I have to go soon...
So heres the possible problems I can think of: - You are stupid. The REAL place to plug that cord in is on one of the short sides of the hard drive, next to where to plug the 4 pinned power cable. -Your computers motherboard is compatible with Serial ATA(SATA) hard drives, and the hard drive you bought is an IDE hard drive. You should maybe just return the HDD and get one with the right plug. |
