That puts him under exactly nada. The gangs you see today aren't the gangs that they were in the 70's and 80's, and even most of the 90's. It's the difference between teaching a dog to protect and stand up for it self, but you go absent and that dog grows up in a cold world that's getting colder ever day, so eventually teaches it self to kill.

It's not your fault, but most of the kids on this board have absolteuly no idea where gangs came from, how thy get started, and most importantly, why. Gangs don't start up just ot break the law - think of how organized a gang is. Gangs start up as a bunch of people saying "okay, we need to protect our selves and out territory from outsiders coming in and taking what ever they want." and the start off with bare hands and maybe some knives that they agree is ONLY for self defense. Of course, after you beat up someone from another gang who tried to impede on your shit, they're gonna get reinforcements. Now you gotta get reinforcements. Then guns get introduced, which are expensive, so to fuel the war, you sell drugs, steal, rob, etc. Now 20 years later, everyone forgot what sparked off the feud, you're up to your ass in beef, and you HAVE to stay in the gang to keep any kind of protectin from outside forces, or leave the area completely, which is why gang members say "I can't get out even if I wanted to". Their tatts are lifelong. Opposing gang sees em and you're still a target, in OR out.

well....when the crips were originally created, they weren't doing bad things, they were helping their community

also, my guess is that he is the first Nobel prize nominee ever sentenced to death by his/her own government

~Lady Fiya~ 12-13-05 03:42 PM

I can honestly say that if dude killed someone in my family, I wouldn't want him to die. Not saying he did kill those individuals, but responding Mimesis' first post. And the majority of y'all probably haven't even heard of Tookie until some threads got posted up. So saying he not sorry and he'd say anything to get his ass off the hook = shit. Not everyone in prison claims to had "changed their life". Some dudes like it in prison believe it or not and those that get out don't know how to live like a regular citizen anymore. But anyways, dude co-founded Crips, so what. It's not like he still on the streets in 2005, dude is older and making children books for fucking sake.

Just cuz he started it doesn't mean he should die.

The six members that started the Ku Klux Klan were bored and wanted to create a secret club with the purposes of having fun, make mischief, and play pranks on the public. It started out non-violent. When it first started, there were no burning crosses, no lenching, etc. So if the original founders of KKK were A- still alive, B- in prison and about to get injected in less than 24 hours. I wouldn't say kill that fucker now just because they started something that's dangerous to this day. What people do now is their decision regardless of who the "leader" was... so if a KKK member killed someone now, are you gonna blame the founder from years ago?

Same goes for Crips in the millenium... if a crip kill someone, then you gonna point the finger at the founder?

That's crazy.

Everyone is quick to blame the founders and co- automatically like people don't have their individual decisions to make.

As far as if he deserves to die or not, that depends. What does killing an individual who has turned against and reveted hundreds if not thousands of people from a life of crime accomplish? If you answer is "now that I think about it..only bad things" or "nothing" then the the answer is no, don't kill him.

He will never get a pardon. Why? because when people want to trash Ahhnald, they're gonna say" Arnold Schwartzenneger actually gave a governotorial pardon to the co-founder of one of the larges gangs in the world".

News flash: politics are still about just that. Politics.

I know there's no proof he ever killed those four people. But, he started one of the worst gangs in the country. NUMEROUS fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, etc. have had to deal with more bullshit then they ever should have had too because of this asshole.

Fuck him.

I understand it's all politics.. fine. I could give a shit less. To me, he deserves to die and he doesn't deserve to have anybody feel bad for his sorry ass either. That's my opinion. Whatever.

He writes childrens book, and is otherwise a would-be model citizen and certianly a model inmate. He's an icon to a lot of people in gangs because he's A: a founding father, which WOULD make him a 5 or 6 tomes over OG, so when he tells you to do something , you HAVE to do it. HE's denounced gang life and encourages others to do the same.

I don't give a fuck. The crips wouldn't even be around for him to try and get people to leave if he hadn't started it. The crips still are around, which tells me he's touched more people negativily (whether they know it or not) then positive shit. I'm still saying fuck him.

For me it's not just about the four alleged murders. It's about the HUNDREDS of people who died for his stupid ass gang. The THOUSANDS of people who had to suffer for his fucking bullshit.

If he really "changed" he can bring that up with "God" or whatever the fuck, I could give a shit less.

That's bullshit. Like it or not, they sentenced him to the death penalty. You can complain about the judicial system in the United States (because yes, we all know it does have some problems, still better then most of the world, but there are problems), but he was sentenced to death.

If a child molester claims he's changed and that he can talk to other inmates and lead them away from crime, when he gets out he's still going to have to file a paper to let everybody in the neighborhood know that at one time he molested a kid.

That's how the shit works in this country. So, fuck his message. I can read his book then take a 6 drive to California and see all the shit he's done. See all the lives he's fucked up. Fuck him.

Because he's claimed to be a "changed man," so now people want him to live his life in prison and continue to spread his "message" or some shit.

I'm still saying fuck him, though.
