Jordan would never take 48 shots in one game... look at who Kobe has on his team... Jordan had Scottie, Dennis, Kerr, Kukoc, and all those motherfuckers to share the ball with, and he STILL put up the points, and ALWAYS came through when it counted... he's THE legend...

Tha Q. 01-23-06 03:41 PM

aiight at the Kobe haters...

If you are a fan of bball, you have to know that Jordan is the greatest ever...But, you also have to admit that Kobe has more RAW talent than Jordan...Stop thinkin with your hearts people and think with your heads...

Kobe is only 27 years old...Jordan DID NOT achieve what Kobe achieved at a comparable age...

Stop feelin like someone is dissin Jordan...It's actually good for the game...

Young_law 01-23-06 03:45 PM

doesent matter if he didnt do it at the same age, he still is never going to be as good as, or acheive as much as jordan did

based on what assertion? Facts point otherwise. In fact, it makes more sense to think Kobe will beat Jordan's records than to not believe it. The kid is 27 and already has 3 rings. And, the only reason Jordan is as loved as he is, is because he was ahead of his time. In my opinion, if Jordan peaked in the 21st century, he'd be just another good player in a sea of great players.

Young_law 01-23-06 03:53 PM

based on everything, defense, dunking, speed, Quick thinking, Shooting, Offense, every aspect of the game jordan was raw at it 200% kobe cant live up to that

.Ike. 01-23-06 03:54 PM

i guess everyone ignore the fact that i probably had the most knowledgable post in this whole thread....

kobe with a big man = championship material
kobe without a big man = hell no, he'll never win one without a low post presence

jordan without a big man = 6 championships...

^ thats the difference

Exactly who did Jordan play against that measured up to him?

Now...compare Kobe to the current crop of players in the NBA. The talent pool is way deeper now. Therefore, Kobe's accomplishments, relative to the time, are more impressive compared to Jordan's, IMO. Also, don't even give me that, "Jordan wasn't a ball hog" bit as to why he didn't score 81 points in a game. He scored over 60. That in itself can be considered being selfish. Face it, Kobe is a more talented player than Jordan ever was.

exactly the point, he was so good nobody measured up to him, if everyone who isin the game now, was in the game back then, jordan would have STILL dominated

nope, thats just how raw he was he WASNT a ball hog, he was able to keep the bal around to everyone and STILL score

That as is not a FACT, thats an opinion a Fact is, that KOBE will NEVER be as good as jordan, he'd be lucky to come close

Why be mad at Kobe because he was able to surpass that effort by Jordan? Based on your logic Young, Wilt Chamberlain must have been the most selfish player in NBA history.

The fact is, Kobe is more accomplished at 27 than Jordan was at the same age.

Kobe already has 3 rings, is heading for MVP this season, and will probably win the scoring title.

Oh, did I mention that he's only 27!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^That fact alone makes it possible for him to eclispe Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time. Kobe has the raw talent to do it. And, the talent pool today is greater than it was when MJ was dominant. If Kobe Bryant can mature, which he will, he will be the greatest to ever play the game.

kobe wont win 6 rings or have as manscoring titles as mj

High-Dro 01-23-06 04:44 PM

before the age of 27 jordan never had shaq..and mj didnt enter the league at 18 either

You all make more excuses as to why Jordan isn't better than Kobe at 27. I can tell you why Kobe is better than Jordan at 27 than Jordan was at 27. Kobe has more TALENT than Michael Jordan.

Again, let me draw parallels to golf.

Jack Nicklaus is considered the greatest golfer to ever play the game because he's won more majors than any other golfer. Tiger just turned 30, but is already on pace to completely obliterate Jack's records. Until then, Tiger is considered a contender (the top contender) for the crown of "history's greatest golfer." However, Tiger is already regarded as a BETTER golfer than Jack Nicklaus ever was. He has more raw talent to play the game than Jack. The same can be said for Kobe and MJ. At 24, Michael Jordan was NO WHERE near ready to win 3 championships like Kobe did. And, if you argue Shaq had something to do with that, then I can argue Shaq didn't win those without Kobe. Need I remind you all of his chamionshipLESS days with the Magic?

Oh...and Need I remind you that he had "Hardaway" as his side kick. MJ once said that Hardaway would be the "next Jordan." Boy was he wrong.

Well...I am not Miss Cleo and certainly don't know the future. But, I present a valid argument as to why there is a possibility that Kobe will break Jordan's records, mainly because he's so young and talented with his entire career ahead of him.
