The bible was translated from hebrew to latin.

Better sit down for this one pal..

*cough*
When you translate text, you take the meaning of the origional word, and replace it with a word of the same meaning in a different language...

.........Dumbass

Tha Q. 03-02-06 01:08 AM

The old testament was written in Hebrew

The New testament was written in Greek

La Cosa Nostra 03-02-06 01:14 AM

Which one spoke of hell?

Or did they both... (im guessing the later)

L.E 03-02-06 01:48 AM

I belive in God a hundred percent.

If you think about it...it all makes sense. There are a thousand posibilities...

...But even in the Old Testament, why would all these people just dream something up..?

I myself am no church goer...because I do believe that there is more it than that. I believe it's not just something that you follow...but something you have to try and understand for yourself. Existance is mankind's greatest question and most unreachable answer. Because in the end...Why are we all here..? We couldn't "just be here"...

But that also leads to a problem. God was always "just there"...but the human mind cannot imagine anything without a beginning and and end. That is just the way we are because we understand only life and death...to survive, and then to eventually die.

But the biggest question is...why..?

And if you think about it, religion is something you follow...but how many religions are there in the world..? Many.

BUT all of religion centers around one central omnipotent being, other than Greek mythology, but even then there is Zues.

There has to be a God...

Even science proves it. There is evidence that the entire universe was created from a "big-bang"...but what created the big bang..?

On the first day, God created light. And there was light.

The light could have been the big bang.

Because on the FOURTH day was when God actually created the Sun and the Moon.

There are infinite possibilities. It all depends how you wish to percieve it as.

Terumoto 03-02-06 02:37 AM

Isnt there no evidence of the big bang? Its the big bang THEORY, not history or fact.

And you shouldnt be saying things like science proves the existence of God... that will get you in a world of trouble -_-

L.E 03-02-06 03:18 AM

There IS evidence of the big bang.

Galaxies moving away from eachother, constantly gettting further away from one another. There would have to be some force that acted upon them to make them do so.

And science doesn't prove the existence of God..?

Hmmm...what about mathematics..?

Numbers are infinite, constantly being able to link anything and everything to one another. Physics are based on math. Physics has laws. Math has laws.

The perfect art form. Math may be the only thing perfect in the entire universe.

The thing about the universe is that everything works on math...and it all works. Just by chance, everything goes on its own..? Sorry. Not buying it.

Different locations and angles and formulas that fuel almost every scientific discovery today...

Think about it.

La Cosa Nostra 03-02-06 03:31 AM

Actually theres left over radiation thats been recorded in the deep reaches of the universe that co-incide with the big bang theory.........

This is going to turn into another christianity vs whatever thread, so ill make a new one instead of doing it here.

when I make it, reply, because I want to have this discussion.

Ysdat 03-02-06 05:43 AM

90% of christians are blindsighted humans. In these fucked up times, we need open minded people who are willing to think " hey, maybe this religion is right aswell". releigion these days is mearly about shutting the next religion out to prove "we are the ones".

Fuck that! no disrespect to christians in general, but you a nuch of hypocritical fucks with no actual insight to life in general. basically need to relise your not correct and every religion intertwines with one another basicalyl being a seperate form of what your claiming to be" right" and they are "wrong".

Its pathetic.

La Cosa Nostra 03-02-06 06:52 AM

Not to mention all religions take the words they read from texts like the bible and shit that their preachers read as 100% facts..

But do any of you realise that if you skim back through the pages of history a little, everyone also used to think the world was flat....

There are so many things that christians take as hard facts that simply could be dare I say......................WRONG.......
