the bible also says the spirit seperates from the body and there is a seperate place they go not heaven nor hell you don't go to heaven or hell until after judgement day...

and the 2nd coming is necessary and its not God that comes it's Jesus, and 2/3 of the population is still going to be here on earth and Jesus comes back and saves the people....and the part you said about the dead rising, it is just going to be bodies...the souls of the dead will not be in them

^it depends on how they died aswell, If its suicide they go no were untill there time was up or some gay shit.

Basically no one knows the answer to what happens. Thats the only fact we know. based on, no one has died and came back to tell us whats happening.

yes the spirit would stay with the matress because if it "died" on it then it's spirit would follow anywhere that mattress went. trust me i got pics of ghost up on the web from my house.
