They can mix and make my beats and hook me up with cats to collab with. But thats it, you can't change my style.

Bitch you stole my avy, *jumps you*

and OF course not. Money isnt that damn important. If people really use music as expression then this isnt even an option. If you WILL sellout then quit right now cause you piss me off.

Indeph 03-13-06 10:05 PM

If you are motivated by money, then ya it would be dumb. If you actually care about the people you influence, well then it would be stupid to do it.

It all depends on why you rap.

.Ike. 03-13-06 10:06 PM

So......would you sell out?

I am able to take advice...

But I'm not an idiot.. If they wanted me to do shit that would make me look like a little fagget pop artist... Then no..

If they just wanted me to change my attitude towards one or two small things with my music... I'd prolly have no problem with it...

No. Rather not be signed.

And being a Sell Out isn't that easy... you gotta get the looks and all that swagga and shit.

you gotta come better than the rest in ever way.

Ms. Get Gully 03-13-06 11:15 PM

i dont even see why people call it selling out.
fuck the bull shit
Money is money im a go getta and imma get money if i can.
if anybody feels im selling out they can kiss my rich sell out ass.
underground cats making money off rapping..look at all the mixtapes.. so fuck it.
all you need to do is before u get in the game wise up on the principles of percentages and what nots of what your sposed to get paid.dont settle just for any record label that will take you. get to know them first and if they let you do you and make bread..then go for it.

speak for your self. money dosne't mean the world to me so it ain't likely you'll see me sign up to be someone elses bitch-boy the rest of my life.

besides that, I rather have someoen call me on the horn like "yo is this apexx? Yo I wanted to let oyu know that your song XXXX really moved me man and changed my life" like on my last album vs. some dumb airhead groupies in the street going "OMG apexx, your 418121th club song like...totally rocks!!"

maybe it's just me . oh well. luckily, that's the only person I'm speaking for.

*SmokeSomething* 03-14-06 03:55 PM

All i'd see is dollar signs in my eyes...
but i fuck my niggas so i dont think i would sign that shit cause im loyal to my niggas and we got our own label so if they wont to sogn my label then sure but no control over my shit , this the shit nwa broke up over did yall see beef

∆ P E X X 03-14-06 04:12 PM

and lmao @ anyone who believe that a label is gonna say "here's a million just for signing".

Anyone here who said that they'd sell out..do you know what "recouping" is??

You're responsible for PAYING BACK that money, they don't just give it to you. You're not Jay Z or 50¢ or any other rapper that's a proven sales machine who they're going to give you to entice you to sign on. You're nobody. More importantly, that million dollars (which they would never give you on your first, second, or even third contract) is not your money. It's a loan that you have to pay back with very very high interest. How do you think that TLC went diamond and between the 3 of them didn't have $15,000 in their pocket? by the time they were done with their contract, they were buried in debt, though they exceeded their sales numbers. And they're far form the only ones.

Not to mention that you can get signed and shelved, like MOST of the artists that get signd to a label. Do you know how many people I know that are signed to a label and their album is NEVER coming out?? And you STILL have to pay back that money that you would have already blown. You'd screw your self and not even realize it.

READ. Learn about the music industry that you want to get into so bad, because the industry preys on people that don't know the size of the corporate cock that's flying at the speed of rap right toward your anus. The label is a zero risk business, they NEVER lose. You will always pay them back, believe me.

*SmokeSomething* 03-14-06 04:17 PM

word thats real talk cause these labels dont give a fuck so if you gone do it you self shit its enough ppl on here to get some shit going all these motherfuckers ,shit i dont know y strobe never tried it
