You know what the higher class in Europe ate? Dope cakes 'n shit?

America -- 400 years ago was full of farmland, they ate a lot of beef steaks and your regular farm food. Potatoes, vegetables, etc.

Indians, no, they arnt vegetarians. The hindu religion does not permit the eating of pork. However all other animals are fair game so long as they are slaughtered facing the correct way and blessed before they are killed. Back in those days, there was no hygene, so people were a lot more cautious about eating meat, due to the fact it could be diseased. Which is the origional reason for superstitions such as blessing the meat and all that shit... Indians are actually a large part of influence on the chinese culture, they ate a lot of rice and curried dishes. (they still do btw)

European nobility ate loads of meat, lamb, beef, pork, deer, chicken, quail etc. Their food was mostly freshly slaughtered, but they often doused their meats in sauces real heavily to mask the fact that they had little to no refridgeration, therefore it went off usually before they ate it and had to be cooked pretty hardcore to stop disease. Their salads also usually were slightly heated to mask weltering.. Europe is a real spread appart reigon though dude so different styles of foods are found in different areas.

In italy for instance, they were (and still are) heavy on pasta dishes with loads of home made tomato sauces and meat balls. All their pasta was usually home made aswell. But thats not even the half of it, because there are mad shitloads of different parts of itality and they all have their own unique cooking styles and what they prefer..

Where as, in places like germany, they ate a lot of sausage meats and cheese..

You could seriously write a long ass essay on all the different foods people ate 400 years ago dude.. That was the beginning of the scientific period, which is a REAAAL interesting time period. If you look past all the naievity of basic measures of cleanlyness we are into these days.. And dont mind medival medical crackpots who had little to no idea what they were doing..

Its would be an awesome time to get into.

Alright, thanks. As for the Italian information, yeah..I'm half-Italian myself, and everytime I visit my grandparents up in Ohio, we usually eat homemade foods...nyoki for instance, I believe it's spelled...homemade spaghetti...all that dopeness.

Thanks, that's a bit more helpful than ysdat.
