i also doubt that if some hears 50 say he shot 50 people and go out and shoot 50 people crime and gangs in the streets existed way before rap

Ysdat 04-11-06 05:14 PM

People always find reasons to do dumb shit. Remember when grand theft auto 3 came out? Murders everywhere. People killed people over the catacher in the rye, A BOOK. People killed ppl over terminator I remember it a bunch of suburban kids got too happy with it. And kids did idolize the terminator, WHO DIDNT idolize him? People killed ppl over friday the 13th, people are just like that. Don't point the finger at rap. Point it at people.

Past Tense 04-12-06 01:05 AM

yeah I already started writing about it today

shits dumb

OrEo da cookie 04-12-06 01:26 AM

see u do not love hop hop!! if you gonna say rap glamorizes it then why be a rapper?cuz there fore you are gonna want kids to be influenced to do something else...ok if you aint rappin bout drugs, money, females {hoes}, guns, and killin..you reaching like two people who aint into that anyway..people know right from wrong..now there are some dumb fucks who make u think this way but at the same time they getting it from somewhere else anyway

L. Veracity 04-12-06 11:39 AM

the difference between movie stars doing it and rappers doing it, is you know movies are fake and it's all props...when a rapper does it and claims that's how they really live, you don't know it's just a "persona" being sold to you, the public...that's the difference right there...rappers careers are based on them being "real" so they will never admit that it's just a persona and not who they really are...but an actor plays a different role in every movie
therefore, you can't judge them on the same level, at all

and no, this won't ever stop...sex sells, so guns and violence...the industry is all about money, they don't care what happens to who their music inlfluences, if it influenced you, that means you've probably bought the album, which is a big plus for them...the record label doesn't fcare about the rapper or the general audiance...but hey, as long as they're buying, nothing else matters in the big picture and grand scheme of things

in other words, stop buying this crap ass "bang bang shoot 'em up, I got whips and chains like a dominatrix" rap and the labels will be forced to change what they put out...they only supply what the public demands, demand something different and stop buying this CRAP and they'll give us better artists with more to say besides, how to get a bitch to suck your dick, how to sell and or process a drug, and how to cock a got damn gun

No. It was time to turn rap around 3 years ago. Nobody did anything about it, and rap became what it is now.

L. Veracity 04-12-06 11:45 AM

normally I'd agree, but it was time to turn rap around when Tupac got shot

everything happening now was foreseeable...but if you wanna get technical yeah, when 50Cent started with his trash and bullshit after GRODT

someone should've shot HIM in the head and ended the bullshit

you gotta understand rap and music IS ART. I've seen r&b girls sing about being cheated on when they never have been. I've seen rockstars talk about heaven when they've never been there. It's all art. Rappers can talk about guns if they want, art is whatever you see it as. Like eminem said "I am whatever you say I am". People can take art however they want. If 32093240 rappers talk about guns than that's the message they're getting across. Life does imitate art, but art is any type of expression. INCLUDING TALKING. You can't slap a limit on what people can talk about because people don't have a strong enough mind. If I told you everytime you use the word 'the' I wanted to kill somebody would you stop? Sometimes you gotta get your shit out there. Tupac never killed a man in his life, but he has in his songs. Music is music. You wanna stop the violence rap causes? The shit is inside the people.
