the reason we got problems on this site with voting is:

1) there is no real criteria for voting
2) too many haters on the site
3) a lot of people don't understand HOW a battle should be judged...
in a face to face battle no one says that a dude lost cuz the dj was trash... the focus should be on lyrics and delivery... the beat is there as a guide only... now a full scale production battle is sumn different..there you can include everything from beat choice, quality, lyrics, delivery, and whatever else goes along with it

4) everyone has an opinion... either you're gonna agree or ya gonna disagree... lots of kats can't take the fact that someone doesn't like what they did... learn how to take criticism... it's too easy to get votes removed...

5) i say just vote and don't leave feed.... just like on the radio when they do head to head battles... they ask the callers who won... they say the name... and that's the end of it... first to 5 wins... plain and simple...

it would avoid confrontations with the voters and contestants... there's all kinds of reasons why the voting don't work... some people don't know how to seperate they friendships when they vote... if one of my boys had a bad drop... it's my duty to let them know... "yo, you my boy and all but dude got you this time"... but that's just me... i gives a shyt if you don't like my votei'm still gonna make it fair

People don't like to be honest because half the time when they are 100% honest, people say they're hating or some bullshit. I learned this firsthand. So you gotta be all wishy-washy and say it was close but one person barely won just so you don't end up with some whack e-beef for centuries.

I.G., beat choice does matter because it's not a face to face freestyle battle. It's a battle over the internet that's written and recorded and mixed etc. If someone uses 21 Questions or some shit to battle, their lyrics better be off the fucking wall. On the net it's how it sounds, in the streets it's how dope the rappers are. I've seen people not even diss their opponent and win because the other dude just straight out sucked. Different planes call for different criteria, whether we like it or not.

and that's the point i was tryna make about how shyt ain't clearly defined as far as what we're to judge... some of these kats don't read between the lines like say, you and i do... they need shyt spelled out for them... nah mean?...

the way i see it... there should be a point system set up by categories and you check the box of the person who won that category... let the comp tabulate all the points and the one with the most points gets the vote.... simple

example:


beat choice (10 pts)
flow (15 pts)
delivery (15 pts)
emotion (10 pts)
wordplay (20 pts)
originality (15 pts)
disses (15 pts)

total

you either get the whole pt value for that category or nothing at all.... add it up at the end and whoever got the most points wins

I'm making who ever I battle agree on 9 Voter's and then set the voting critieria for what those 9 voter's are to base thier judgement on. it's the only way it can be done. I think.

All this shit strobe did to make sure we have fair battles and fuckin people STILL cheat. I mean with the biting the swaying the recycling the DR the pm'ng/im'ng for votes, why do we even bother. Seriously I thought this site was for battling for fun. We supposed to show our skill and battle, and whoever wins, wins. WHY does all this bullshit have to come up. Honestly when people win a battle in real life, they just say yeah this dude won. But since people are so fuckin retarded we have to fear all this pointless bs. Like people voting just to get a vote on their battle, which leads to the person voting on their battle doing the same thing. -_- We need impartial judges for each battle and we need to start making battles actually MEAN something. I know this might stray RV from the normal battle forum stragedy, but maybe we need to make front line battles more "important". Like by having to put in the system with it, the guest judges too. Like when you think of live battles, they're not gonna have Eminem vs Benzino battle judges:d12. It shouldn't be hard getting a couple people to judge. Maybe in bitch slapped you need to setup shit like who wants to judge this battle? COME THE FUCK ON who needs to look at judging a battle as a favor I thought you idiots liked rap? I could go on for hours but this is pissing me off too much.

It sounds good but it takes away the entire subjectivity of the voting. I mean, if there's a battle in the streets you can't say "Ok, who won the flow category?" and check it off on your clipboard and shit, it takes away from the whole experience, just like it would on RV. Some people don't think flow's important, some don't think wordplay is and some don't think beat choice is, so in the end they could end up voting for someone they didnt really think won JUST because the other person won more "categories". I find it hard to look at just certain aspects, I take the thing as a whole and judge it. =/

Ok, pretend I never said anything about a similarity between the 2. Now lets say when I vote I like wordplay, emotion and flow best of all and thats all that really matters to me, but I'm forced to vote on all those other categories and one dude has DOPE wordplay flow and emotion, but lost the other categories, why should I have to vote for the other dude even though IMO the one I liked won? Who says that each category is equal or that your opinion is what's worth more is what I, as a single voter, should have to vote on?

That's the point I'm trying to make, stop pointing out one thing thats wrong and building your entire argument out of that. =/
