Because they wouldnt be creating them..

Theyd be discovering whats already there..

You ever see 3 around? Just plain, ordinary 3? Of course you havent, because it is an abstraction created by someone.

You're saying that the guy who thought of 3 "discovered" it somewhere? I suppose three's live in England, tre's live in Italy, san's live in Japan?

"No, but what if they were placed into reality by an omniscient all-knowing being. Then they wouldnt be created, they would be discovered."

Well whatever man, you can think that if you want.

I find it more plausable due to my belief that the universe is ordered...

An ordered universe where nothing is certain and nobody knows anything.

Cool.

Huh?

Where did you get that from?

When I say nothing is certain, I mean humans cant predict what god has planned for us. We just have to live it out.

Terumoto 09-06-06 12:43 AM

So you do believe in an external god?

La Cosa Nostra 09-06-06 12:55 AM

I dont believe..

I just know its a possibility.

Terumoto 09-06-06 12:58 AM

But isnt that a sort of requirement for your belief that everything is ordered?

How would the universe being ordered equate to me knowing everything.

No human knows everything. So many things we can only speculate on.

Terumoto 09-06-06 04:00 AM

No, I was talking about an external God.

Otherwise you're just saying "Everything happens for a reason, for no reason."

Logic The Goonie 09-06-06 04:11 PM

^^Or a reason that we can't comprehend or understand. =/

Also Known. 10-17-06 08:35 PM

Neither knowledge is acquired trough a trial and error basis and then pased to others unless those others already know what your teaching

Dufflebag Boy 10-17-06 09:07 PM

it's created but on very thin lines from being discovered

u discover information but you create knowledge bout it
its like you dont discover that you know that 1 + 1 = 2
but you discover what the answer is so that u can create knowledge bout it
so then you dont have ta look for the answer
when someone asks what 1 +1 equals

Let's say the theory of evolutio is correct:

We evolved from apes. Adaptation can be a factor in this agument. If we evolved from apes, then that means we would have to discover new ways of life as we evolved.

So knowledge is discovered.

But then we got to the point where we got intelligent and invented things.

Somebody invented the wheel. I doubt he walked through the woods one day and say a slab of cheese roll down a hill like some commercials say.

Let's look at it from a religious point of view:

God created Adam and Eve, giving them knowledge. He also gave man a free will and a brain to learn things with.

Therefore, from both points of view, it is both created and discovered.
