-   -   Wow, Diddy's the 5th artist to flop AND sell record lows this year (http://community.rapverse.com/showthread.php?t=236415)

banks isn't worthy of flopping.

obie flopped.. which shouldnt have happened
meth flopped.. which shouldnt have happened

oh well.

I think some of it has to do with advertising. I didn't know that Meth was droppin a CD until I saw someone post a DL link. I didn't know Obie dropped one, Diddy, Luda, etc....

If they advertised more, maybe people would buy their albums before they had a DL link in front of their face

enygma is right...if they advertised more..(internet, TV, Radio, etc) then they would do a lot better i think.....yes the downloading is a problem..but the lack of good promotions isn't helping at all either....

what's that got to do with anything? this is the lowest record sales he's ever had. ever.

i guarantee when he wants to hype himself he'll be like "the number 1 album on the charts" to give you the impression that everybody and their mother is buying it but he'll never say "the worst selling album in diddy history"

wordup. and that's the problem with DefJam. They don't promote ANYBODY anymore, and it's been that way for a few years now.

good thing carter ain't doin shit about that. but he's promotin his shit real nice.

Hopefully people are understanding what real music is now..

*puts on Iron Maiden*

∆ P E X X 10-29-06 01:10 PM

Iron Maiden lmao, yeah that's good listening

turn up the megadeth! turn up the pantera! now [i]that[/s] real music.

...and hey, at least it's better than anthrax : /

Diet Coke 10-29-06 02:17 PM

^ You know how it is..

Dave Mustaine's voice is such a good voice for metal..

RIP Dimebag, but Pantera does rock it for sure..

/hahaha I saw Antrax live, they opened for Judas Priest, who are also kick ass.

But my favourites are a little more chill, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Stooges, and Frank Zappa..

And for new age, I'd have to say: At The Drive-In, The Mars Volta (but Drive-In is way better), and Tool

word up man dave has the second best rock voice next to james hetfield. jame's voice is gritty as fuck and just can't be fucked with on some tracks man lol. symphony of destruction? cyclotron? sick kid. and it's fucked up what happened to dimebag darryl man, that's a crazed fan to a whole 'nother level right there. frank zappa though hhahahaha dude's a genius. too bad his kids suck, but then again, how the hell are they gonna live up to their dad's legacy.

yo there was actually a thread about pink flloyd and led zeplin here not long ago. they're the greates of the last era imo - for groups anyway, but for this era tool DEFINITELY, radiohead, Nails, primus (they're like zappa's offspring with bass guitars lol), and i'm a big fan soundgarden, pearljam (temple of the dog obviously) and cant forget nirvana b. been hot since Bleach. and a few other washington bands i'm sure i'm forgetting

Diet Coke 10-29-06 04:35 PM

^ Oh for sure, Nirvana is amazing, same as Pearl Jam. Soundgarden too, can't forget Rage Against The Machine either though. But I agree, Hetfield's voice is better than Mustaine's. You know what else is kinda cool, Dimebag was also a potential member of Megadeth at one time.

But yeah, Floyd, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple, those guys held it down for sure. My band is trying to write with more of a 70 - early 80's sound. We don't have any music up yet because we're not hitting the studio until December but you can check us out then.

Jam Sunday isn't the name, just the temp because we're to concentrated on the music to bother with a name yet.
