Good mic. Go for the Rhode NT1-A if you've got AKG 2000 money.

Of course the Rode lol. But as far as the mixer, Behringer Mixers are known to be faulty at times. It is pretty safe to say its blown.

If it sounded like shit, its because of his setup, not the Mic, the mic is a good one. But yea man, your only going to get what you pay for as far as quality when it comes to equipment.
