no matter how good you are, to some audiences somewhere, you're wack.

i think rap is def. mostly an acquired/honed skill.... even in singing there are MANY basically "god given" things u need to be good, such as a natural ear and tonal quality to progress... but in rap u dont have to be melodic and sing..... all u need to know is put words to a beat....

i would say like 10% natural talent 90% honed...... but the "natural" part is VERY basic... like being able to stay on beat, having a good voice/breath control/delivery.... but then AGAIN, all those things can be taught as well......

i think that people naturally word things that is appealing.... there have been tons of times where ive heard two people with basically the same type of concept, and one can blow me away with it, while the other is a "meh", based on how they word it and express it.... this i think is basically ur natural ability.... ur ability to write can be improved but it takes A LOT of discipline to break habits and find a better way to state ur ideas without slipping into ur old habits, if those habits are unnappealing...

but like someone said earlier. NO ONE can naturally freestyle.... even if u are naturally a quick thinker, free styling is way too hard of a thing to even be able to DO more than a few lines of ur first time trying, let alone having it be good..... this is the same with making songs... no ones first record take is gold, even if theyve been the best battler on Smack DVD.... u needa learn the tricks of the trade
