you forgot a detail though. 'Updating my computer', something I'll have to essentially do within time anyway, will give me the availability to play games I never would have dished out cash to play.

computers were better. crysis is the top end for pc right now, and just to get to that level can cost hundreds, up to thousands. 360s put out a tflop of power, it's equivalent to a supercomputer, and a ps3 is twice that power. so computers were good, but to keep them at pace is more expensive that getting a 360 or ps3 of more power.
