I find that some home-made things are actually more expensive than buying pre-made in a can from the store because of the mass amount that the company can produce versus what your individual ingredient sources does.

Example: Home-made biscuits.

obviously you cant make your own wheat, but if you make your own dough at home, it's home made, not made with homemade wheat, but it's home made, and still cheaper.
